Algolith Mosquito HDMI firmware - somebody backed it up ?

After using a non-HDMI Mosquito for a few years I recently got a HDMI Mosquito. Since the Algolith website is long gone, I was wondering if anybody has the latest firmware on file ? I assume that Algolith lifted the license agreements when moving the Mosquito HDMI to legacy status. They did this on the analogue-only Mosquito and the FW upgrades included the neccessary license file.

Maybe somebody knows which actually was the latest firmware version, so I can check wether mine's up to date or not.

Thanks in advance!

I snagged all the firmwares for the FLEA HDMI before they vanished. If those do you any good (I can't imagine they would) let me know and I'll post them.

I believe the last version is 2.05. I have the update file for the HDMI Mosquito if you don't have that version already.

are you guys still using your dragonflies and mosquitos? I hve both but haven't used them in quite awhile.
I still use mine for DVD's and FiOS, particularly SD content.

I think I can probably dig up the FW's if someone needs it.

Could somebody upload the firmware here, or email it to me? My Flea HDMI is acting funny and I would like to see if reflashing it would solve the issue it's having.

I would really apreciate it. I had the files on my pc and the hard drive failed

Thanks for the firmware, was a nice christmas present! Was not able to test it yet, but I forgot to mention that it is a Flea HDMI in my chain. Does it make a difference? Can I use the 2.07 file? Thanks a lot....

I don't know the answer to that question. Man it's been quite a while since I've had this stuff in my system.

I recently purcharsed a used Flea which has revision 2.01 on it. Does anyone still have the 2.07 file that they could send me? Many thanks for any assistance.

So this is what happened to them. Worst money I've ever spent on A/V equipment.

Sensio Acquires Algolith

Montreal-based 3D technology company Sensio Technologies Inc., has acquired Algolith, a Montreal-based video image processing company. The acquisition consists mainly of four patents and nine patents pending, as well as Algolith's image-processing technologies, source code and know-how. Sensio says adding Algolith's 100 percent-compatible and complementary technologies will enable the company to boost development of current and future projects, and extend its range of solutions for 3D delivery.

The total cost of the transaction, according to Sensio, including assets and expenses, comes to under seven figures. The transaction will be closed during the course of today, Dec. 1, and includes Algolith's technologies and the adjunct of key personnel, bringing significant expertise in the field of image and video processing as well as their in-depth knowledge of the purchased IP. Algolith was spun off from Miranda Technologies in 2003.

Algolith's noise-reduction and compression-artefact-reduction algorithms are among the best in the industry, said Étienne Fortin, Chief Technology Officer at Sensio. With the advent of connected TVs, low bitrate, noisy video will be widespread and we foresee a big demand for this capability from our current customers in the consumer electronics market.

Combining Algolith's video-format-conversion and noise-reduction technologies with Sensio 3D will uniquely position us to service the broadcast market as well, added Nicholas Routhier, President and CEO. Other key technologies will come into play further down the line, enhancing our state-of-the-art offering to all markets.

I always wondered what happened to Algolith (although I never actually searched for the answer).. thx for posting, but why are you saying its the worst money you ever spent on A/V stuff? I see you have/had the Dragonfly and Mosquito, I don't know personally about the Dragonfly (I remember a few yrs back I wished I could have gotten one of those but they were so expensive and I was still in university..) but the Mosquito works well for cleaning up noise IMO and from what I've read on AVS. Did you have firmware 2.05 on it?

On another note, looks like Sensio did this with Algolith's patents, although from the looks of it, doesn't seem like its geared towards consumers, too bad..

That technology is only available for large scale production of Blurays/projectors and even smartphones and video industries...no longer for the end user...unless your willing to buy 10,000 unit/chips or something of that magnitude.

Don't mean to dis Algolith. They were great while around. But both the Mosquito and Dragonfly were super expensive and they just came out at a time when there was a lot else happening.

Point taken - they were indeed VERY expensive to purchase at that time.

There's another thread, search for it, "Flea Firmware - Final v2.07", posted in May of this year. There's a link in that thread to what you're looking for.
