What is that some sort of IR wall switch? Cool idea...but not necessarily easier in the long run...as I then need to worry about line of sight to that thing.
I think my solution (albeit more complex to configure) will end up working quite well.
I was trying not to splurge on a Harmony, and to get my Onkyo universal to do everything. I had two problems with that:
1) There is a limited number of buttons on the remote, and if you press a different input to assign buttons (like CD/DVD) then it switches over inputs which is quite annoying.
2) My PC's IR transceiver is an MCE remote, and although it recognized non MCE codes, it doesn't do it very reliably.
I got around this by coding everything into Event Ghost with MCE commands and then using one assigned button to switch between different "profiles". So I basically have one profile setup to control all of me Media Center functions, another to control basic computer functions, and a 3rd to control specialty functions (like webcam PTZ). Still working out some kinks, but I'm amazed at the power of this little program.
