Polk PSW505 vs ...

Alright so I have had my mind set on the 505 for 230 shipped and have yet to read a negative review. Why isn't it pushed more for the price range?
Because of the BIC V1220, F12 and H100.

I hope you don't mean you've only read the amazon reviews. I wouldn't put much faith in those.

Had one, isn't horrible. Don't expect reference levels or much under 35hz. Don't be surprised to hear some port chuffing or sub bottoming on bass heavy movie scenes. It was alright with music imo, didn't seem to get overwhelmed with the rap to rock I listened to.

So then stay away from the Polk and get a pl200??

I will rarely if ever use it for music, it will be used for HT only.

Agreed. Take pl200 if you main purpose is ht. I have one and for the price it hits hard and sounds very very good. For music its just ok. As for ht and what you are going to pay for is excellent. You can get pl200 for like $275 not sure about shipping. But if you get the Polk cheaper than pl200 you can stick with Polk. Both have similar specs. Other recommendation is Lava12" but cost bit more.

The polk is about $50 cheaper than the pl200. Plenty of people love the PL200 for HT and as I said that's all I will be using it for.

Spend the extra $50 on the PL. I had the 505 in a 5000 cu/ft room. Was sufficient for music, never got stressed. I could very easily find it's limits in HT which is why I upgraded.

What did you upgrade to?
