Pioneer VSX-1021-K Questions

Hey y'all my friend is looking for a new receiver and I am trying to figure out a couple things about it.

She is looking at the Pioneer VSX-1021-K

I am wondering does this receiver drop the audio off at the receiver and pass the video to the display?

I know my Onkyo 805 does this but I also know the Onkyo 505 did not when I was buying mine. I was looking through the specs and couldn't figure out what they called that anymore though.

I assume it does but I just want to make sure she wont have to hook up 5 devices then run a optical cable back from the tv to the receiver for audio.

Also how do y'all like this receiver? She wants is because it supports AirPlay but open to suggestions on other receivers that have this option if the price isn't to steep in comparison.

Have you gone to Pioneer's website and downloaded the manual?

As far as I know, there is no HDMI on any new receiver that doesn't take the audio off.

Denon and Pioneer/Elite are the only two that(so far) support Airplay. P/E's advantage over Denon is the Airplay will work in Zone2, without it having to be used in Zone 1.

Cool thanks I figured that most receivers would take the audio off now I just wanted to make sure. I haven't really kept up with them since I got mine.

Ill check the manual online real quick to see if I can find it but I am sure your right. Thanks for the help.
