Very odd - I have the US (Canadian) version, and cinema smooth (is that 'film mode?') is only ever available in 1080i mode - 1080p doesn't work, irrespective of the frame rate. Odd, maybe a difference between models.

I'd also like to know about the firmware, brightness pops on mine are tempting me to return it to Costco before my 90d are up.....

I yesterday changed the model of my PS51D530 to PD7000 in service menu and I now have the following extra options:

- White balance
- 10p calibration
- xvYCC
- Expert pattern
- Relax image mode

On the negative side, HDMI1 is now HDMI3 (same for me) and USB now doesn't seem to work (no problem for me either).

Cool feature for techies in a budget.

Hey guys,

I picked up a pn51d530 the other day from Best Buy, and updated the firmware (1007) to fix the sd issues, and now the tv doesn't detect the dtv signal that is comming from my coax cable line. Did anyone else experience this and how did you solve the issue? Does anyone know if I can downgrade my tv back to the original firmware? What was the original firmware that came with the tv? I though mine said 1010 when I did the upgrade.

Which firmware did you upgrade to?, 1007?, the correct one for your model (european/american?) ?

1010 firmware? First time i hear about that firmware version. I have never upgraded my PS51D530, but I read these tv's don't let you downgrade firmware (1010 --> 1007).

What does the Samsung SAT say about your issue?

I just got this set from Costco after returning an LG LCD model because of really uneven brightness. I notice the pops a lot, especially with animated shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show, in scenes where nothing is moving except one small element causes the brightness to fluctuate and it's extremely annoying.

I haven't touched the firmware. I've only read through the thread for the Samsung plasma pops from all the other models like the 550.

I change the configuration on the service Menu and now the tv doesn't detect the dtv signal.

I talked with an Samsung after about 2 days of searching, and ended up having a tech come out an replace the mainboard to the tv. The new mainboard came with 1007 already installed on it, so I didn't need to upgrade the firmware.

I'm a proud owner of a PN51D530(11/21/12) I just loaded the 1007.2 firmware on to a thumb-drive and notice the firmware version on the tv is 1018?? I can adjust the cell brightness on my tv up to 20....

I get the feeling this is a newer firmware...thoughts?

I have the 535 anybody have any good settings for this tv?and yes i would like too see a new firmware.my blacks are grey too,and some reviews on the tv said that it have good blacks well grey blacks aint good.
