First AV Reciever!! Onkyo TX-NR609 or TX-NR708?

Hey guys,

I am looking to buy my first home theatre set up and am torn between the Onkyo TX-NR609 and TX-NR708....

Being a complete novice when it comes to all this, and after reading all other threads/posts on others asking the same question, I'm still at a loss as to which will suit me better.

I work for an electronics store and am able to purchase the TX-NR609 at cost and the TX-NR708 at 10% below cost, which will still be $150NZD more expensive. Is what the TX-NR708 offers worth the extra cost? I'm not too sure if the Audyssey 2EQ vs. Audyssey MultiEQ debate will apply or not as I have never used this.

I will be using either the Kef KHT2005.3 speaker package...

Am I likely to use the Audyssey technology though? I have never had an amp before so do not know how easy/hard it is to use or to get right. And apart from the MultiEQ, is there anything else which seperates the 609 or 708 apart from the upscaling?

Had a quick look at it online and it seems like an impressive amp for the cost, but it isn't an amp I can get a hold of through where I work, which means I'd be paying quite a bit extra to buy from another retailer. The only other amp that we have that I have been tempted by is the Yamaha RXV667, being around the same price bracket for what I can afford.
