Antonio Banderas stars in this intense drama that had a large number of people walking out of it's screening at Cannes due to it's provocative and controversial subject matter and graphic content. Here is a teaser:

Pedro Almodóvar is one of my favorite all time directors. If you have not seen any of his films you owe it to yourself to check some out, a few to get you started:

"Talk to Her"

"All About My Mother"

"Volver"

Looking forward to "The Skin I Live In".

Review: http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/rev...e-in-kerbl.php

One of the darkest films in recent memory, The Skin I Live In is also unbearably, almost inexplicably light and bright; Banderas’ iron-fisted and singularly focused performance keeps the project from slipping into camp territory; and the ultimate reveal of the film is a rare, truly surprising twist.

Just received this the other day:

As I stated above I love Pedro Almodóvar's films and this one is no exception.

'The Skin I Live In' - "A brilliant plastic surgeon, haunted by past tragedies, creates a type of synthetic skin that withstands any kind of damage. His guinea pig: a mysterious and volatile woman who holds the key to his obsession."

This is a disturbing and thought provoking film, but beautiful at the same time.

As one review stated: "It's very different, strange, perverted, horrific, beautiful and always entertaining."

Highly Recommended!!

Watched tonite...

This is a very weird, trippy, creepy, and wonderful movie.
Definitely not the usual Almodovar fare.

Antonio Banderas is excellent as a Dr. Frankenstein/Jigsaw kind of character.

I do have one complaint....

The "tiger" element to the story should have been edited out.
It wasn't necessary to the overall plot IMO.

For those in the mood for something completely different, this is the movie for you.

Didn't know this was released on bluray!

Great find. Now I need to see the other movies by this director.

The ending was not a surprise but the "Frankenstein" was. Banderas was excellent for a change.

This is a keeper for the perverted minds.

I saw this when it came out in the theaters. Absolutely twisted and great! If you like Almodovar's other movies you'll totaly be into this one. Also Elena Anaya's ass is one of the greatest ever commited to film...

Glad you enjoyed it!

Almodovar is one of the most important and creative filmmakers today:

I can't recommend his work too much...

It was amusing that my neighbor likes Audition, but cannot deal with this one.

I got his other three movies on queue.
