Equipment:
Sony BDP-S580
iomega 2TB Network HD Cloud Edition
Cisco Linksys E1000 Router
All items are connected and operating properly. I can view the BDP on my TV and I can view and display content from my Iomega on the TV thru the BDP (wireless).
Problem:
I have tried 2x unsuccessfully to put a DVD on my HD so I can view it thru my BDP. I have downloaded - Handbrake and AnyDVD for this process.
My current process:
1. Start AnyDVD and Handbrake
2. Insert DVD into drive
3. Run AnyDVD software to decode.
4. Run Handbrake on the "normal mode"
I let this run last night for 3 hours and it produced a 858,956KB, MPEG-4 file for the movie (X Men 3).
I address the video from the BDP and it shows the folder as empty.
What am I doing wrong?
***** UPDATE *****
Found that this player will not play MPEG-4 over DLNA. Returned it and got a LG BD670, but I'm worried from the reviews I've read.
Anyone got a recommendation for a Blue-ray that will play files from the above network hard drive. And not sacrifice the 5.1 or better sound and picture quality.
