Don't know what kind of setup you have but with my rig (Samsung 63" 3D plasma, Panasonic DMP-BDT210 BluRay player, 5.1 surround) the 3D experience at home is easily better than what I get at the theater. When comparing the same films at the theater or at home, I find the home display to give me a brighter, sharper picture with better depth and 3D pop (which I rarely experience at the theater). Given the size of my screen, and how dark I can make the room, the image fills enough of my peripheral vision to draw me in. For me, 3D at the theater is simply a stopgap until a given title becomes available for the home.
