No, Monoprice mounts are perfectly adequate. The higher quality ones may provide better instructions / customer support.

Monoprice mounts are lacking nothing. Solid and well built. If you find the instructions lacking you certainly should not be mounting your own TV.

True enough, but most mounts are conceptually the same. A piece of metal bolted to the wall with two rails connected to the TV that hang on aforementioned piece of metal. So long as the metal isn't aluminum foil, it's hard to justify paying $100 more for a mount with a name brand (unless it has some other feature you like).

Do pay enough to get decent welds though...MonoPrice seems to have enough quality.

No. But the real question you want to ask is, a $120 mount is 5x better than a $20 mount?

My company bought an expensive mount, came with complete instructions, clear english, well "presented" product.

I bought a cheap Monoprice at home, soft metal, I was able to quite easily dremel it to fit (a good thing otherwise I'd be going %&$^@ with a tough metal), Chin-english instructions, but meh I figure $80 cheaper I'd put up with a little cheapi-ness for something that nobody is going to see once mounted. Locking mechanism funky, I had to run out to the hardware store to buy two longer screws.

Bottom line: Somebody else's $, I buy the expensive one. My money: Monoprice.
