'Suits' on USA HD - Page 3

I thought the second season opener was pretty good. I am glad they are moving away from the whole Mike getting caught aspect of the show. Sure he is still lying to the majority of people but maybe they can move toward a backdoor law school admittance. Harvey had a nice balance for the episode. He is soft enough to not fire Mike, but is vicious enough to try blackmailing an old partner to keep him out.

I enjoyed it also. Is it just me - if he is a genius memory guy why can't he take the test and get the degree? He took it before and passed for other people - what is the big deal in doing it for himself?

As I wrote last year, I want to like this show, here was my viewing last night:
Burn Notice, Best of all the USA shows, as it has Sam, and Mikey's Mom.. A pretty good episode... Least USA "Blue Sky" show they have.
Suits: Gabriel Macht, is very good, so is Donna his Asst. The kid is well, awful, at least he is putting his purse on his shoulder now...The happy elevator dancing, and I never liked the Managing partner, she is stiff as a board... The guy coming back is a great actor and might make it all worthwhile
I then watched the 2 Breaking Bad episodes from the early morning AMC run... Are you kidding a re-cap of season 1, and the first 2 episodes of season 2... It's like comparing a great NFL team to a H. School JV team, and Gus Fring hasn't even arrived yet For me, I'm recording every late night and watching the next day, every day.. What am I watching?? Breaking Bad, daily. I recommend doing the same
Just my opinion, of course.....

He took the Bar exam... not courses... but the principal is similar.

Most colleges have a deal where you can pay and take an exam for any course and if you pass get credit for that course... so Mike with his memory skills could read a bunch of books and likely breeze through some course tests and get a degree... but I don't know if that works completely in Law School... there may be some courses you would have to take, and then you can't officially take the Bar exam as yourself without those previous credentials.

On top of all that... he has been illegally practicing law (or at least illegally representing himself as a lawyer) potentially for a while now and if that came out through becoming legitimate, all of those cases might get upended.

Suits is one of my favorite summer shows. Last night's episode did not disappoint me in the least.

I too was glad to see Suits back. I like everybody on it and think the new season is off to a good start.

funny, I had the opposite thought, I hate the guy coming back. I always like Gina Torres, she has that cool elegance thing going for her. I'm not really into office power fights, but I'll see how this one plays out. I'm glad they dumped the old friend, and the other girl friend, seemed like dead weight by seasons end.

I still hope Louis meets a very bad end. mad.gif

I agree with most of this. I do think that the former best friend and girl friend will be back. At least the former BF, Mike seemed like he wanted to get some revenge which would be cool.smile.gif

I have to admit that this show has taken off for me. I think the writing is some of if not the best on TV this summer.

Suits is another great show that I have watched from the beginning. However, in the immortal words of Richie Valens, "Donna, now that you're gone, I don't know what I'll do..."

I'm gonna miss Donna. frown.gif

I too really want her back, and I'm betting we see more of her since a bit of her back story came up in conversation a while back.

Well Donna is back. Liked this last episode. Of all the summer series I'm beginning to like this one best.

Agreed. I watched this week's Suits episode with my college student grandson. We both really enjoyed it. In fact, I thought it was one of the best yet. The show keeps getting better and better.

I'll repeat myself... I like what they do with Louis. In most shows he would truly be an irredeemable ass... but within this episode he gets to show all sides of himself.

He does what is necessary for the firm, and even Harvey who he doesn't like, he reaches in and does his best ******* lawyer to exemplify what the opposition would do... and you know from the beginning last season that he really does like Donna... and then you believe he really does feel sick afterwards. He would probably do it again in the same circumstances, but he doesn't like it.

Counter that with the show's Hero... Harvey... who doesn't seem to show vulnerability or likeability even when setup for the breakthrough. I'm not even sure at the very end if he truly "got" it... and that too is different. The slightly unlikeable hero and the very likeable nemesis (Louis)... and the way they are twisting around the other senior partner... I'm not sure if he will be the ass they think he is OR if Jessica will be truly the ass and the other guy has turned a corner and is better than his previous self.

Interesting how the guy playing the other senior partner (Daniel ??) was on Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Franklin and Bash player an ass from corporate last week. Not sure this is a spoiler but since it refers to another show, well just playing it safe after the last debacle. wink.gif

I think that had to be the best episode of the entire series. Not sure I'm looking forward to next weeks though...

I agree 100%, I thought this was easily the best episode of the whole series so far, and Sarah Rafferty(Donna) was simply outstanding!

I think this is just flat out the best show on TV...not just the summer fare. The writing, the acting, it's just a superb mix of talent. Characters you love, characters you love to hate, just a great assemblage.

I was saying to my wife last night that even the camera work is great. I'm so sick of the camera work gimmicks you see today in so many TV shows and movies, this is refreshing. The ubiquitous 'shaking camera' shots that many shows seem compelled to use in every shot, drives me nuts...even some comedy shows! Is there a formula as to how many cycles of left, right, up & down movements there should be per minute? Give me a break.

I just worry that enough viewers are aware of the show and it won't last much longer. My son was unaware of it, but once I told him to try one episode, he was hooked. wink.gif

I feel exactly the same as you. I love this show and have been trying to get my "e-mail buddies" to watch it also, but I haven't had much success. Hopefully, there will be enough fans like us to keep it going. Next week's season finale looks to be outstanding!

From the looks of next weeks season finale he just may. However he is my favorite character on the show.

So sad about Mike's Gma. From the minute she showed up at the office I knew she was a goner ....mad.gif
post #88 of 136
so who is louis going to vote for???
I loved Louis finally got his chance to be on top for an episode. I thought it was really bad idea to kill off Mike's Grandma unless the actress could no longer keep up with the commitment. Even in her brief moment on the show I thought she brought a nice balance to the show.

As much as I like Gina Torres... I'm kind of hoping still that the "bad guy" wins... because I think this show has been multi-layered... and I think it would be smart IF they had him still be ruthless but actually a changed man, while Jessica turns sour and starts being the actual bad guy. I think that would be a change from the usual and different from what most people probably expect to have happen.

I think Torres would play a good devious revenge-motivated character... and I would like to see that.
