Behringer Inukes @ B&H - Possibly shipping soon

Thread Starter
On all the models at b&h it says ships in 7-10 days, could that be a sign that they are coming soon.

anyone planning to order one?
I was holding out to buy one to power my dual LMS's, but when I called a different vendor in late May, the status was "late Summer or early Fall." I'd call and get the real story from B&H. I went another direction with my amp purchase.
I wouldn't mind trying one out but I'll wait and see how they test first.
Or get the amp it's copying, the Peavey ipr series, though it does cost a bit more.

Given that Peavey is essentially selling these to gain market share and not to make money (I have some inside info), I wonder what corners Behringer cut to be able to sell them cheaper.

I'd like to see how they test too. For $50 more than an ep4000 it's rated to put out 3kw x 2 @ 4ohms, yet only consume "620w @ 4ohms"? I have my reservations.
They may also roll of below 20hz
ya, I'm in no hurry. I'm still debating on what I should do with the money I got for my RMX5050. I could buy 2 marathon 5050's or a couple LG clones. I don't really need the power right now, my stack of EP's are still working great but I'll be in a new place as soon as they build it and would rather have 8 marathons or LG clones than 16 ep4000's lol
post #8 of 33
I might end up buying the Behringer DSP3000 or Peavy DSP3000 to power my just acquired JBL GTI 15" subs which will go in a dual opposed sealed box. I do have the Yamaha P7000S/SMS-1 combo right now but might end up replacing them with one of the above units which should add more flexibility/simplicity to my system.
Been really hoping that these would be worth their weight - they would offer a huge value for heavy duty subs IMO. Still hoping!!!

This is what I'm concerned with. Noah mentioned in the Peavey thread that they made some sort of adjustment (changed a component) to reduce the impact of the roll-off below 20hz.

So if Berry is copying the Peavey, not sure if they'd have made this same adjustment as of yet.

Would be nice to know when the Peavey's are coming out with the 6k unit.

I'll let someone else be the Guinea Pig on this...

Some food for thought:

From the Behringer web page:

What's the FCC have to do with an amp? Does it transmit or receive wireless signals?
Radio frequency interference.
The Inuke ratings are peak not RMS from what I understand.

Maybe I am underestimating how much RF interference an amp could produce...
I figured it would be negligible.
These amps are class D, switching high currents at high freq
post #18 of 33
In my experiance a class d amp is fine for subs, the high current at high frequency will not effect your subs one bit, just make sure that they are not in a area that could influence your mains, or surrounds. Don't want to introduce noise into your highs...

A couple of years ago, Behringer imported a number of products into the USA without the requisite FCC certification. After ignoring repeated requests to provide documentation and/or come into compliance, they were hit with a $1,000,000 fine. Not appealable. They're a bit more cautious nowadays.

Cheap price!

What a tease... You!

It's not in stock

It's also $550 USD, that's not cheap.

So its basically half the advertised values. Chuck measured the ep4k(2500 at the time) and got 2kw out of of the amp.

The rolloff keeps me away from this at the time.

-didnt notice the 'not in stock' note- damn!! got all excited at the prospect of getting somthing before you lot for once!

$550 is cheap for us!! I find gbp to usd is 1:1 when buying electronic goods- so if you pay $500 for an amp over there, we usually pay £500 (approx 40% more!)
we need to grow our population or somthing to increase our buying power methinks....sucks!

I guess that was my point though. Its not rms so the values can be taken at half.

The roll off on the ipr and possibly the i-nuke make me wonder why these high watt amps would be good for sub duty

I get full power at 10 Hz on my ipr 3000.
I checked with one of my distributors, here is the date I got for the Inuke DSP versions as to a ship date: 10-18-2011

Looks like they are still a ways off.

Most PA subs only go down to 30hz or so.

No they don't. They go all the way to 10hz with little rolloff.
