Sub for 3.1 Rock Solids

Thread Starter
I am considering using 3- B & W Rock Solid speakers/monitors for a 3+1 flat screen sound system. I have the Solids, and need Sub and Receiver advice.

What do you think of using a Lava LSP 12 or a BIC PL-200 for the sub? (14 x 20 room, TV seating at 10 feet off 14' wall).

Also, any recommendations for an inexpensive receiver (Under $250)

I am trying to avoid buying the Bose Cinemate II system my wife wants.

Thanks for your thoughts!!

If the primary is for HT then I would suggest the Pl-200 as its an excellent performar for HT with a low cost. I have two in my HT area and am very happy with them... esp for the price of $270. If anything thou, when it comes to music they to lack a bit in that department, not bad by no means but if anything that would be the Pl weekness.

Lava seems to have a good rep as they offer a 30day money back if you dont like it so that may be worth a shot as well. You may have to do a little research yourself on the Lavas... but IMO I think are a soild choice for the budget area as well.

As far as receivers go, I would look into what fits your needs the best such as inputs/out's, hdmi's and such.

Heres just a few to look at; *(in the $250 range as requested)
