Receiver Causes Speaker to Pop and Turns off

I'm a newbie and hate wasting peoples time on forums because I know this question has been answered somewhere on the internet but was unable to find anything (maybe cause I'm not sure what I'm looking for). I have an Integra 30.1 that I have not had any issues with that I just moved into another room that already had wires run and speakers hooked up. I was using it with Klipsh speakers in the old room but the new room had "all-in-one" Sony HBD-E570 system with the platics clips on the end that plugged into the player/receiver. I was thinking I could possibly cut the clips off, split the wires and use the existing wires and speakers. Seemed to work alright for about 5 minutes, while I used the mic to set up the system, but once I turned on tv even at minimum level it pops all the speakers and the system turns off (red standby light flashes). I unplug it only to have it do it again. Any Ideas?

^^^

carefully re-check all of your speaker wire connections... it sounds like you may have a stray wire shorting out...

Hi jls056, most likely speakers are the cause.

Can the Integra 30.1 handle 3 ohms speakers (E570 specs shows speakers are rated at 3 ohms)?

I vote for the 3ohm issue. Those speakers were made to be used with the system they came with ONLY. That, and the speaker wire used with-in is probably extremely thin so the OHM load is crashing even further.

Ok. So I know nothing about Ohms, but the Integra 30.1 manual does. Here is what it says:

All channels: 90 watts minimum continuous power per channel, 8 ohm loads
105 watts minimum continuous power per channel, 8 ohm loads
110 watts minimum continuous power per channel, 6 ohm loads

Maximum outout power: 7 ch x 175 W at 6 ohms

Dynamic power: 210 W (3 ohm front)
180 W (4 ohm front)
110W (8 ohm front)

Speaker Impedence: North America (That's me) 6-16 ohms

Does this help you out any? It's Greek to me.

Thanks so much for all of y'alls help.
