Onkyo TX-NR509 or Denon AVR-1612 ???

Please help me:

I already have 5.1 Boston Accoustics speakers, a PS3, HD cable box and 1080P TV, iPod, and now looking for my first ever AV receiver.

It will be used for everything, from music to movies.

For the same price here in Canada, Im trying to choose between Onkyo TX-NR509 and Denon AVR-1612.

Thanks very much for your help!

Well, which one has the features you are going to use?

The 1612 uses MutlEQ so it will be able to eq your subwoofer. The Onkyo only uses 2EQ. I would go with the Denon.

For same I'd get the Denon. Better room calibration algorithm use.

In fact I was interested also by the options offered by the Onkyo, being able to plug in my laptop to watch movies or listen to music stored in it.

But Denon is maybe producing better sound quality (?) from what I read on other review sites, so that's why Im confuse...

And I dont need more than 5.1 so I am not that interested in investing for 7.1, 7.2 etc, but from what I have seen its mostly on these units that we can have an ethernet connection. All units with intersting features seems to be at least 7.1.

What would be the best 5.1 unit to buy then?
