Small Screen Flat Panel?? Picture??

Thread Starter
All of the TV's in my house are 37" or larger, HD and are connected to a Directvsource using HDMI cables so I have no reference point on what I want to do. I want to put a small (19" -22") TV on my patio to watch ball games in the evening when sitting / cooking outside. Is it worth connecting a small screen (19-22") HD capable TV to an HD HDMI source or would the picture quality be that much better than if I just used a SD coax cable / SD picture which be much easier to run from the receiver? (40 ft) HD vs SD on small screen? Just looking for thoughts and comments before I buy anything.

You can definitely tell the difference from a sd signal on a monitor that size if you are anywhere close to the screen.. say from 10' back it might not be noticeable but closer than that and you'll be able to tell the difference. Whether that matters will depend on you, I suppose.

I have a small widescreen tv. Switching from the SD DTA to the HD was like putting my glasses on. Everything was clear and sharp. Otherwise things are kind of soft and blurry. You can still watch, but you won't be able to easily read the small scores for the ball game.
