How to mount DIY frame to wall?

I need to mount my screen frame to the screen wall. It is MDF wrapped with velvet. The two options I can think of are velcro, or finishing nails through the velvet/MDF into the drywall.

LMK what you think.

You could also hang it like a picture frame. The problem with nails is when you want to take it down. You may damage the drywall trying to pry it off.

Pieces of wood cut on an angle to form a cleat will work. google French Cleat

I don't think I need something as substantial as a french cleat. The frame sections are separate, and weigh about a pound or two each, max. I don't really care about nail holes, if the frame comes down one day, the wall will need a repaint anyways. I'm leaning towards small finishing nails.

Then this is MDF with which I am unfamiliar!

If you do decide to use finishing nails, by all means do not place your hamster's cage or fish bowl anywhere under your screen.

Maybe MDF is the wrong term. The stuff is the white baseboard material you get from HD. It's like it is made out of recycled cardboard, with a white finish on the front. It is really light.

yes that's called mdf baseboard. or medium density fiberboard.

I do as well...and I lean into them with a Hammer, and then "set" them deeper into the MDF (...and thus "under the surface of the Velvet...) using a Nail Set.

Another neat trick to employ so you cannot ever see the Nail heads is to hammer them in at a slight angle....always "away" from the inside edge of the Trim/Screen.

I second a french cleat. It is easy and secure. Only need two holes. Understand that the cleat itself doesn't have to be more than nine inches.
