Recall that I recently reported a bug in Pro 3.4. Specifically, you can't re-load a previous measurement file and add new measurements. Audyssey reported back that this was a known limitation of Sub EQ HT caused by the lack of memory on the AVR hardware.
Since then, I have uncovered another issue and have reported it to Audyssey TS. Here is the text of the report I filed. Do any of you consider this a bug?
On November 9, I reported an issue with Audyssey Pro software (case 4121). Since then, I have discovered another issue with Pro Software version 3.4, which I am using to calibrate a Denon AVR-4311CI. Here is a description of the issue:
I ran a Pro calibration and saved the measurement data. After the Pro calibration had completed, I viewed the calibration results using the Parameter Check menu item on the Denon AVR. I noticed that Sub1 had a distance of 12.0 ft, and a level of -2.0 dB. Sub2 had a distance of 11.3 ft, and a level of -1.5 dB. For this calibration, I had selected crossover values of 80 Hz.
The following day, I decided to run some listening tests with the crossover values set to 60 Hz. As I have done many times before, I launched the Pro software, loaded the previously-saved measurement file, advanced to the screen where I selected the new crossover values, calculated the filters, and saved the results to the AVR-4311. To check my results, I opened the Parameter Check screen, expecting to see all parameters except the crossover values to be identical to the first pass. However, I discovered that the Pro software had set both the distance and levels for Sub1 and Sub2 to the same values, 12 ft and -1.5 dB, respectively.
I consider this behavior undesirable, and suspect it is a software bug. I am looking forward to your comments.
