My New Home Theater 2.0, Staggered Wall HT. - Page 7

I was all set on a 136" 2.35 Carada Brilliant White screen. But I did a last minute change, and ordered the new Seymour Screen Excellent's 138" 2.35 Radiant White (1.3gain) non-AT fixed screen.

Sorry, no update pics yet guys. But we did mount the projector, finished putting up all the wall panels, took all the speakers out & mounted the surrounds. And I've been watching TV/football game/movie on my white table cloth temporary screen the past two weeks. :P May be after this weekend, I'll have some update photos after we hang the screen & finish the panels on the doors.

I have MA custom cut for me. I ordered mine from CustomAVRack. The ZP90 & Wii are in MA database, and as long as there's enough room to sit them side by side, they can cut any size for you.

Ok, update time. Me & (mostly) Big did pretty good these past couple weekends. We hanged the projector, finished up all the wall panels (minus one of the door which need some modification), I finally bring out all the speakers, and we hanged the screen today just in time for the Raven & Redskins playoff game! Next up, we'll start the boarder panels that surround the stagger wall panels & the screen. Well, at least I could started to enjoy a movie or two now.

Just hooked up all the speakers and ran a quick Audyssey xt32 calibration today. I tried it before & after, I like what Audyssey did on the speakers, but I also felt I'm losing some bass after the calibration tho.... Not sure why? Before the calibration, I "feel" more bass and vibration at the seat somehow.... May be I shouldn't match the sub to 75db as instructed by Audyssey before the calibration?! I'm sure the sub should be powerful enough to pressurize my <2700sq ft sealed room. I felt my family room setup has tighter bass (but less vibration). Other than that, I'm very happy with the sound especially the surround sound (I put a bunch of diffusor at the rear wall & part of side wall), and the height channel running from the Audyssey DSX. Well, we still have one more door needs to cover and it will stuffed with linacoustic too. After that, I'll redo the calibration again and see.
Yes. Keeping the earth tone & modern feel. Can't wait to do the boarder as it will also hide some ambient rope light inside too.

As I've mentioned, I finally do all the wiring on the rack today and for the first time connected ALL 9.1 channel speakers. Will need to do some better cable management later on tho.

Oh, after we put up the screen yesterday, what's good without a movie right? So I did some temporary quick wiring for the regular 7.1 sound, and watched Brave last night. Both me & my wife totally agreed there's no comparison from the Cinemascope screen vs our old (regular) 16:9 screen! And I'm glad I didn't nor able to go any bigger screen as we both felt it's a "big enough" size for the first row seats. Mind you, we used to watch a 100" 16:9 screen 9' away, so we are no stranger of big screen feeling. But at 138" 2.35:1, it certainly feels "enough" from 12-13'. Any bigger, our eye starts having problem to see the "whole picture" IMO.

I'm running a pair of Definitive Tech BP7001SC up front with CLR3000 center, 4 BPX for the surround channels, and 2 Di6.5S in-wall for the height channels. Also has a SVS PB12-Plus sub.
