denon vs onkyo vs pioneer

I posted on the speaker board that I am in the process of upgrading from a HTIB system in our new house. Working with a failry large room 15 x 20 with 11 ft ceilings. Have a total budget of about 5k for all A/V, including TV and installation. Have pretty much settled on the Infinity 363, 351 and Hsu STF-2 sub. Going to use surrounds from HTIB for now. Now I just need a receiver. I think I have narrowed my choices down to the Denon 1911 or 1912, Onkyo 609 or 360, and Pioneer 1021. I have a PS3, HD-DVR box and, for now, sony kdl-40v2500 lcd. My prefs are 60/40 music/tv. I would love to be able to access my music from my computer HD via wi-fi if possible, although could use ethernet bridge if needed. Been doing a lot of research, but I am stuck. Any advice?

Be careful with the HTIB surrounds. They are usually 2 or 3 ohms and can tax your new receiver, which are usually set to run 6 or 8 ohm speakers.

As far as which receiver, it's really personal preference. I like Yamaha because they sound neutral. Denons sound on the warmer side.

What sound do you prefer?

Thanks for the advice on the surrounds. I may go ahead an get some new ones. Any suggestions? Something easily mountable and discreet.

As for my sound preferences, I do like the warmer sound. That is why I am going with these speakers.

Denon seems like a natural fit for your sound preference.

As far as surrounds that are discrete, you may look into in-wall speakers. A cheap, but nice, set can be had from monoprice.com.
