What are you using for your source? Cable box, blu ray, DVD,etc? Have you tried a new hdmi cable or different input on your tv ? Have you made sure the hdmi cable is securely in?

If none of that works try component with the problem source and see if it hoes away.

Is your source going through an amp first then out to the TV?

"...during hdmi..." ??? Explain please.

Does this simply happen when you change the source or turn something on or off, or does it happen periodically even if you're watching the same channel?

I am running the hdmi cable through the dvr and then up to tv. I have Comcast cable...and the audio only cuts out on the high def channels.

You are "...running the hdmi cable through the dvr..." ?? I doubt it, as the DVR has no HDMI input, just an output.
