To spray the color coat, I took it in steps.
I began by spraying the outer perimeter, then used the fan for a few minutes.
Next, I sprayed the inner circles and ran the fan again.
The reason for so much caution is I wanted to avoid any drips and runs in the color coat.
Finally, I sprayed the top surface and used the fan to speed dry the color coat.
I then did the exact same sequence a second time, to get a deep, rich Cherry look.
Then I shot two clear coats to protect the color coat.
In all this time, I still have never tried the water based lacquer. I will switch to that soon. I have a feeling that once I try it, I will be hooked and never want to use Poly again.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I used a Lazy Susan (or "turntable") under the workpiece, which you can't see.
