hi all,
love the TV, but the firmware is maddeningly restrictive. my sandisk cruzer 16GB flash drive wouldn't mount. so, i reformatted it from NTFS to FAT32. still no dice.
i took my old 512MB drive, which is formatted at FAT16. it mounted and showed pictures. tried an AVI file. didn't work.reformatted the AVI as MPEG2 via VLC. still doesn't recognize it. the TV won't even show the file at all in the directory.
has anybody successfully mounted a 16GB drive (formatted as FAT32) and watched a movie using viera tools?
i'm thinking i should just buy a blu-ray player with USB inputs. i'm hoping those will support MKV, AVI, MP4, XVID, etc. plug my cruzer into that, hook the player up to the TV via HDMI and call it a day.
thoughts?
