PowerDVD+X-Fi Titanium output Full 96/24 through analog

To my amazement , PowerDVD + Creative X-Fi Titanium output Full Resolution HD Audio , DTS-MA/Dolby TruHD @ 24bit/96khz 7.1 Channel through Analog !

I didn't think that is possible and I've read many times that PowerDVD downsamples to 16bit/48khz but I do get 24/96 !

Is this true with others ?

Hope it's getting better.

Cyberlink doesn't mention Creative X-Fi as a fully supported card for Full Resolution HD Audio, but from my finding , it is indeed supported , so why settly for a crappy Realtek codec or pay much money for Xonar HDAV 1.3 ?

Which sound chips (cards) support high-definition audio output?

Realtek ALC885 (support up to 192kHz/24bit 2-channels or 96kHz/24bit 4-8 channels)
Realtek ALC889 (support up to 192kHz/24bit 2-channels or 96kHz/24bit 4-8 channels)
VIA Vinyl VT1818S codec (support up to 192kHz/24bit 8-channels)
VIA Vinyl VT1828S codec (support up to 192kHz/24bit 8-channels)
VIA EnvyHD Vinyl VT2020 codec (support up to 192kHz/24bit 8-channels)

Auzentech X-Fi HomeTheater HD.
(supports HDMI 1.3a bit-stream lossless pass-through)
ATI Radeon HD 5000 series graphics cards supporting lossless pass-through

In PowerDVD make sure that Output Mode is set to "No Effect" , because using "TrueTheater Surround" will immediately downsample to 16/48 :

It looks like PowerDVD 11 still suffers from the incorrect DTS-HD decode. Try this clip: Surround_DTS-HD_MA_7.1.ISO. Using ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD in a DirectShow player is still only the solution of bit-perfect DTS-HD (and TrueHD/DD+ of course) decode unless you use a sound card certified by CyberLink/ArcSoft.

Hi,

Can't get this to work on my X-Fi Titanium Fatality - power dvd 12 ultra will still only output at LPCM 16/48 - how do i get this to 24/96? I've gone into the sound control panel and upped the default format to max 32/192 but PowerDVD refuses to budge.

I know this is an oooooold thread - any tips?

Thanks

A quick fix is use MPC-HC (or any DirectShow player) + LAV Filters + dtsdecoderdll.dll (borrowed from TMT; check the sticky thread "Advanced ...") + WASAPI exclusive mode. No downsampling is guaranteed up until the sound card (then the sound card may process the audio stream at 48kHz).
