Memory card class question - Lexar SDHC

I looked at B&H website found Lexar 16GB SDHC:
2 cards have same heading and same price:

Lexar 16GB Platinum II 100x SDHC Memory Card

One is:
Class 6 Rating
Transfer Speed Up To 100x (15MB/s)

Another is:
Transfer Speed Up to 100x (15MB/s)
Class 10

So which one is better? Class 10?

And also this one, a couple of dollars more:
Lexar 16GB SDHC Full-HD Video Memory Card
Class 4 Rating

BUT this is just class 4 with same brand.
Just get confused.

Buy the Lexar Pro not the Platinum. That few bucks you save won't be worth it. The cheaper cards are cheaper for a reason.
Lexar Pro 133x Class 10
If you buy less you don't get a lifetime warrnaty and too bad if the card craps out on you because you won'y get any support from Lexar for the low end cards.
Call up Lexar like I did and ask your questions.
Don't buy the Platinum, get the Pro instead.

No, here is a link to the Lexar Pro 32GB you can find it in 16GB as well and sometimes Amazon is cheaper by a few bucks. The Lexar pro always loooks like the one in the link. The platinum has a purplish sticker, avoid it. The $10 you save isn't worth it. The Lexar Pro is a Class 10 you will see the (10) on the card, inside a C.

Why the Platinum II is bad? Any bad reviews or experiences?

I called up Lexar and asked them about it and the tech guy said they highly reccomend the Pro. They have very few problems with it. Lexar supports the Pro with a limited lifetime warranty. The Platinum II after the warranty runs out you're on your own. You save a few bucks up front but not enough to justify the price. the Platinum II card is slower.
Of course you could save more money and buy a Transcend card and cross your fingers that it won't have a problem and that it won't choke writing when you need it most.
I have one of those as well.
If money is that much of an issue, buy the cheaper card and hope for the best. I wouldn't do it as it's not saving enough to be worth potentially losing something you can't get back. Lexar will help get your video back if you own a Pro card and it fails. That's a WIN in my book.
Lexar Pro gets highly rated reviews by everyone who owns them. The Platinum II has a few reviews that cite unreliable performance.
It's your money, you decide.

How does the 'SanDisk Extreme HD Video' card below compare to the Lexar Pro when recording at 1080/60p??

"SanDisk Extreme HD Video" card:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...HC_Memory.html

Has anyone experienced any issues with either of these cards recording at 1080/60p?

Also, the link you posted lists the Lexar Pros "Minimum Read Transfer" rate as 20MB/s, is this fast enough for 1080/60p recording with, in my case, a Panasonic HDC-SD800?

Thanks!

I've been using a Transcend 32g Class 10 for a couple of months without any issues. http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Clas...1170016&sr=8-1

On edit: A little off topic, but I googled around to see if there were any clever ways to check an SD card and found two.

The first one is a freeware downloadable program called H2testw (Ver 1.4) Basically, it fills the card with data then tries to read it back. Then it provides a table of test results. It has been discussed before on this forum, so apologies to those that already know about it.

Of course the other test is to use Windows Explorer, right click "Properties", select "Tools" and push the button for "Check now...". Again, apologies to those that know and use this regularly, but I'd forgotten about it.

So, with two ways to test cards and a practice of moving videos to my computer (with a routine backup system) I feel better about relying on SD cards.

The Lexar Pro will cover you for anything you will need to do with video.
The Sandisk Extreme is also a good card but costs more and you will not need 30Mbps as the camera will not transfer that fast. Your PC will.
If you want to spend $47 for 16GB then go for it. SanDisk makes a great card.
20 MegaBytes per second is very fast. The Camera peaks at 42Mbps that's Megabits per second 8 bits in a byte.
I used the Lexar Pro card in the TM900 that I had it worked just fine.
I have some smaller Sandisk cards around here and they work like new.

LEXAR calss 10 cards are not fast enough for CANON DSLRs to function flawlessly.
Even NIKON owners are not impressed.

Read the B&H user comments.

I sold 5x Transcend 32GB class 10 SDHCs as were too slow.

Now I use 2x of these;
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._Class_10.html

and 2x of these;
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...HC_Memory.html

and rarely have a issue.

I also use a 64GB SDXC "ELITE PRO" class 10 that works fine, and is very close in speed to the fastest SANDISCs, and only cost 80 bucks.

I believe the OP is using a camcorder not a DSLR. For video a Class 10 card will work just fine. If you are taking max rres shots rapid fire with a DSLR you will want a UHS-1 card anyway. Sandisk makes those.
For my Canon HF G10 the Lexar Pro works great and it's very consistant.
