The Amazing Spiderman - Page 2

It doesn't look all that great to me either. Yes, this trailer certainly looks better, but the 3D stuff-vision "Mirror's Edge" stuff I could live without.

What would be nice though, is if at the end of The Avengers, Spidey makes a brief appearance...

I'll give this a go....doesn't look as bad as I feared.
Spidey in 3D has some potential.

I like that second trailer... although the guy who plays Peter I don't know, that doesn't scream 'super-hero' to me, not that Tobey Maguire was much of a larger than life guy either. I know the character probably calls for it maybe, regular-guy-turned-super-hero, but something's missing imo. I will see it though.
Peter is supposed to be an unassuming Joe Blow.... this guy doesn't look like anything 'special' which is the point of the character.

Why the hell do they have to do the origin story again? It is just a waste of time IMHO. I know how Peter Parker becomes Spider Man.

And if you don't, watch the one with Tobey McGuire, or one of the cartoons.

Dear God enough of the origin crap. I know where Spiderman, Batman, and Superman came from. I don't need to be told anymore.

It is for this reason I hope this movie fails. Stop telling the same G*damn story over and over.

Actually, after watching the second trailer, I guess this is not an origins movie. That is what the first trailer led me to believe.

That makes me feel better. I guess Aunt May and Uncle Ben(him especially) are both alive and well in his take, and it's Peter's father who was a man of mystery.

Very interesting. I take everything back from my previous post. Hell, I can be wrong too I guess.

I think I'll pass on this one and wait for the next Spidy re-boot in a few more years. Bet that one will be really cool! Maybe he'll shoot webbing from his feet! Maybe Gwen and MaryJane will have lesbian sex! Or, maybe I read that's being considered for the re-boot after that, I forget. Every generation should have their very own Spiderman movie franchise, or two. My son will now have something to live for.

Wait...Uncle Ben is alive in this movie? In every iteration of the comic Uncle Ben's death is instrumental in Peter becoming Spidey. How can he be alive and there still be a Spider-Man?

In order to make the movie more "realistic," Spider-Man will spin webbing from his abdomen, like a real spider.

And shoot it out.... where? Sort of lends a whole new meaning to "swinging" thru the air.

Sounds mighty painful. Lots of Metamucil in his future...

Likewise, the X-Men movie rights are held by Fox. You won't see any of these characters crossing over with the movies produced by Marvel Studios itself.

So why not just create a 4th movie and make it better than the 3rd? I mean alot of movies in a series have at least one that plain sucked.

Transformers 2
Temple of Doom
Star Wars Prequels
Rocky V

Why reboot it instead of learning from the mistakes of the previous and making the next one better?

Well, it's in the can now and we can just hope it is good. I didn't care for Tobey/Kirsten at all so perhaps the new kids will be better.

Big plus one! I didn't really care for any of the movies but the first one. And I didn't think it was great. Part 2 was far too dramatic and part 3 was simply ridiculous.

I'm really looking forward to this film. Marc Webb really impressed me with 500 Days of Summer and I like the cast. Looks promising to me.

Lethal Weapon 3..

I for one thought it was silly to do a reboot too soon but ill give it a go as a rental on blu ray, didn't mind the trailer. Don't know if its true or not but i was told the other reason for reboot was Spiderman will join the avengers.

As explained earlier in the thread, this will not happen in the movies because the two franchise licenses are held by different, competing studios.

Damn! Would of been great.

WOW. That's how you get people to pay attention. I love how there's a lot of the practical stunts here too, cant wait!

That trailer is pretty awesome I must say. Will probably wait for it on Blu-Ray though. I rarely go to the cinema. The Avengers I'm making an exception for though.

Yep this will be blu ray rental. That trailer looked quite good though so if it is better than Toby mcguire version then I will buy.

I have faith that this will be better than the Spider-Man trilogy films. Marc Webb is a good director they've got a good cast. Looking forward to this one.

Nice trailer.
Maybe a 3D showing for me....looks like it might be worth the price.

That was a great trailer. I like the look of the movie - especially the sort of hyper-real, slightly exaggerated neon look of the cityscapes. The cinematography looks pretty cool.
Not sold on the Lizard's face though, from what I've seen (bland).

It will be interesting to see how this does in a summer with the Avengers - a movie packed with superheroes. I can imagine a bit of super-hero fatigue setting in and Spiderman not looking all that new or tempting.

Somewhat OT: people who say they don't go to the cinema any more make me sad.

I cannot get excited for this. I just can't. Don't even want to see the trailers. We had an origin story not long ago. Rebooting makes no sense at all. I don't know anyone who has mentioned this film (but all my friends have been talking about Avengers, DK and Prometheus).

Watching this latest trailer really shows just how much sense it makes to reboot the franchise and replace Tobey and Kristen. Even if you enjoyed the first two films, as most did. They've nailed the look, feel, and personality of Spiderman in this reboot, or at least it seems. Also, the CGI looks 10x better and there are more practical stunts than in all 3 original films combined.

And of course, it makes sense financially as Sony wants to hold on to the rights to Spidey for as long as possible...
