You are located close enough to Dennis that you could take a day trip to his place and audition them.

Well, I'm sitting over here in the Woodland Hills Marriot. Leave Monday. I'm here on family business, so not a lot of free time.

d_m1010 - Which DAC1 are you using? I was looking at their website today and wasn't sure if all had the same volume control capabilities for the RCA and XLR outs or if you need to get the DAC1 PRE to get a decent volume control.

You are about 10-15 minutes from me! I've stayed in that Marriot a few times, actually.

If you're ever here and have some free time, let me know! =)

Hope all is well with the family.

PS. Shelley's Stereo is just down the street in case you want to hear something other than those TV speakers and that "Oh So Wonderful" ipod dock/alarm clock they give you! :P

I talked to a tech about this at Benchmark and the only difference between my DAC1 (the original bought last year) and the others for volume are the op amps. He said you can turn it ALL the way up without issue. My model sounds great. The pre just adds more inputs. I use the XLR to my Bryston and the RCAs to the two SVS subs.

I got some use out of the alarm this morning, but would still prefer a mini-bar. Now I'm with my niece on Victory Blvd, near the Best Buy Magnolia room. Don't suppose that's any closer to you?

Are you typing on your phone?

Technology is beautiful.

Hahahahah

Taking in the sights?? Lol

Its a tiny bit closer. Nothing substantial. I could make it out there but I don't want to take time from you and your niece + the rest of your family. If you have some spare time toward the end of your trip, let me know!

FYI: DO NOT order ice cream from the restaurant in the Marriott.

When I take trips to stores far away, I use my phone's GPS. When I take a bus, my phone tracks the bus & tells me when to get off.

I'm using the AVS app now.

I'm absolutely giddy waiting for my Philharmonics to arrive, almost equally so for your review. I hope you have no other priorities for the next few days!!

I sure hope so. They were definitely picked up, but I haven't received any tracking numbers, which is very strange.

Got your music lined up?

Just ordered an Oppo 93, so I am excited to see what the Phil2s perform in the SACD area. Since I am so limited what I can play through them, I need a change from Pandora and my limited CD collection. Also, hope I can begin accessing audio and streaming from my PC. My Panasonic is acting up and doesn't play SACDs or perform the DNLA.

Can't wait to hear your speaker comparison!

And, did the phils make it to your door?

I put on a Jacky Terrasson album last night and then couldn't turn it off. I love these Phils.

My SVS subs are fantastic with the phils.
I guess these are little over my budget which I keep extending after listening to better products I am looking for something close to $500 range..I have never heard these ID sub brands like epik , rhythmik etc I am not even sure if I can ..don't see anything in my area...I probably will just order something based on the inputs here...since I got introduced to thr Phils based on the inputs from this forum, I trust people know what they are talking about here....

Hi I finally uncovered a tracking number, and there was a delivery exception today. I didn't send them with a direct signature requirement, so I don't know what the problem was. Perhaps your parents weren't home and there was no place to leave 4 big packages? They'll try again on Tuesday.

They decided to sneak out for lunch thinking FedEx wouldn't come; they were wrong. I am NOT happy. I might as well have had them shipped to my house. I should have stayed in town this weekend...

Ahhhh dude that sucks. I would be mad as well. That's it no retirement home for them.

Lol, nice. I knew I'd be five hours up North with the in-laws for Easter, so when Dennis said Saturday I immediately asked my folks to take delivery since they live 15 minutes South of me. I'm bummed they didn't help out in the manner I expected, but there's nothing I can do now. Well, I did lay the guilt trip on thick, but it's all good.. I'll make it to Tuesday, and TJHUB will likely come down and help me set them up in my basement. I can't wait!

Hey fellow members. Has anyone ever thought about making a youtube video of your Philharmonic speakers? Two cents....
