Big Deal. I was born in '93 too. That made me a little too young for the Spanish American War, and about right for WWI, but I got one of those educational deferments.

It was a plush, white, static hair magnet

Ahh the good old days... when I thought I'd be an NBA point guard when i grew up

... well.. at least I'll have better speakers than any of those NBA point guards.

Who wants to be an NBA point guard when you could be here with us?

Yes, yes I suspect you will.

Ok, this is fun reading the puns, jokes, life about the young, the old and the ugaly.......

Butttt.....we want to know are YOU happy with the sound of the Phils! By now you have had plenty of time to express an evaluation, right? You are so fortunate to have such a great pair of speakers. I would have only dreamed of a RCA stereo back then, however, at 19 I was getting ready to leave for Vietnam.

I have been reading, but not had the time to comment, but if I missed your listening comments, I apologize and I forgot what you said is driving them.

Thanks,

Rob

And congratulations, what an accomplishment at 19, your ears will be spoiled forever!

There was no boom box when I was in the 8th grade. The audio highlight of the '70s was the 8-track tape player.

I did own a velour leisure suit, complete with colorful polyester shirt and platform shoes. The outfit got me laid out a couple of times, but not so much the former. I was a virgin until 34, if only I had an Italian convertible AND that leisure suit at the same time....

I did have a great pair of speakers at 19 though - Yamaha NS-1000 monitors. They were my first audio purchase. I grew up on a college campus and a student had a pair, I remember falling in love with them - easy to do when your current speakers are from Radio Shack! They were 3x more expensive than my first car, and boy oh boy was I proud of them.

LMAO!!! Perhaps you wouldn't have needed to buy the convertible if you shooed away the scary ****ing bears! :P

Very, very happy!! The Phils are every bit as detailed, clear, and easy to listen to (meaning no listener fatigue at high volumes...or in general so far....) as the Uber expensive speakers I have had the pleasure of demoing....Revel Salon 2, TAD CR1, KEF Blade, KEF Reference 201/2, Pioneer S-1EX. They are worlds beyond my previous speakers and I will continue to enjoy these puppies for a LONG time to come....well, unless I mix the red and blue pills and blow a tweeter.

My first ever pair of speakers was a pair of $25 radio shack speakers. Then I "upgraded" to a pair of $50 speakers. Then i upgraded to a pair of Bose....it was actually an upgrade. I was 15 years of age at the time. I tore the $50 speakers apart a few months ago, only to find they lacked a cross-over completely. :O :O

I keep it dark for two reasons:

1. My wife is pretty hot so the less she can see me, the longer I stay married.

2. To get the best picture I can on this.

Yes. I was messing around with everything last night and must have taken them off for some reason.

Very happy to hear that, not surprised, but thrilled for you. No fatique, just leaving one wanting more.

Leave the pill alone, please! RAALs are pricey!

That's cool Marantz makes 'em squeal real purty in a soft fuzzy way (Tube like)! I understand the 7005 is not far in build as the 6004.

Where in the world did you get Mr. Harrelson from.....ah, probably has something to do with red and Blue!!!

Robert is just fine, however, I am old enough to be refered as Mr........but Dennis is older!!!

Enjoy your speakers Monkish, i'm willing to wager there aren't many 19 year olds in this world with speakers as nice as yours.

You're in the Chatsworth/Northridge area? If so, there's another pair of Phil 2s that should be coming in the next week or two that'll be delivered just 15 minutes north of you.

Thank you very much loop!!

That I am! If you plan on having an open house, I'd love to attend! I may have Phils, but I wouldn't give up a chance to hear a pair in different rooms.
