Au naturale, I can only imagine the tongue lashing I'd get if I tried to stick things on the walls and ceilings. My lady already complains about all the "junk" I buy and that it's too loud

I feel as though you edited that
or maybe my computer is just on the fritzHaha, yes, oh woe to us

Indeed it is. It's actually the one you see a few posts above these. Just got it today, the guy selling it just happened to be coming up from the city to go to woodstock, which I happen to live right next to. So I sent payment last night and got delivery this morning

Yikes
So many more speakers and a new amp to boot! Luck guy. I'm gonna do a build as well, but probably not until this winter and it'll be a fairly simple one. Two or three subwoofers and then I'll probably be cut off for awhile
but at least by then my system should be even sweeter with those extra subs
Then I'll need a house and not an apartment to fit it all in- Nethawk

Fuzz,
The Servo was my first build and I enjoyed it......however, my friend did the cabinet, just had to tweek it and assemble.
This build is different as I had to assemble crossovers for the first time.
And the cabinets, well I am having to make the bases to go with them...... the same size making them 42" tall.
They are not anywhere near sounding like my phils, but it will be fun nonetheless!
The surrounds are being replaced with a smaller group that have to be white......to go with the new speakers and the Philcenter.
They have to be smaller than the current ones there as she hates the size and color of the WAF-1s (their name), which is why I bought them in the first place.
I am considering the Paradigm MilleniaOne for the color and size and of course the sound, since our room is large.
And, when I move the Phils to the 2 channel listening area, I will need a bigger amp to drive them there as the 6.5wpc won't work. So, I am considering building starting in the fall the Dynaco 120!
Does Salk center have a RAAL?
The Philcenter has amazing quality sound reproduction! ![]()

Dynaco.....the tube or transistor amp? Is that right?
I still feel a bit too incompetent to tackle crossovers, I'd almost rather just mini dsp any speakers I might build in the future that way I get room correction and crossovers in one package and theres less for me to screw up

Sounds like you've got quite a few projects going on and a lot of good speakers coming down the line. Can't wait to see the fruits of your labor.
I've never heard the paradigms, but I'm sure they're good. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do about surrounds. I'm thinking about surrounds from source speakers because I like their on wall and dipole speakers. I think they sound awesome.
The salk has the LCY. I haven't listened to it enough to pick out many differences between it and the RAAL, but it seems like the LCY is a darn good tweeter so far. I can't compare it to the fountek since I have yet to hear one, but I think this one will end the center swapping for awhile.......unless Dennis wants to make another Philcenter

I bet it does you lucky duck, but for a third off, this Salk Songcenter is pretty sweet

It is the ST120 Stereo Tube Amp. It should drive the phils to the levels I need anyway, but who knows, if my buddy backs out, I may decide on a high qualty SS instead.....the jury is still out, except judgement has to come when the Phils are moved.
I was amazed at how easy it was to assemble a crossover DIY build, though, if you can read and solder, you can do it.
You got a great deal on a "Salk" speaker, since Dennis had a good deal to do with it anyway, they're not much different than the Philcenter, but I don't know for sure, it's the DM signature, regardless.
For surrounds, the issue is size, gotta be small. I would like to have had the surrounds that Dennis has made, but still too big for the wall areas. Another to consider is the Anthony Gallo, might be too small for our room, though.
Hummmmm, I hadn't thought to ask Dennis, but he is swamped, about itsey, bitsey surrounds to go with his phils!!!

Hmmm well I know I can read and I've done a little soldering before, so maybe I'll have a go at it. The build I was most interested in is only quasi-DIY and it's the audio artistry CBT 36 line array. I think those look awesome and the design is very interesting.
I would think the sound should be similar, although the edge may fall to the phil center. At least I know the build quality is equal to the phils with the salk center. I'm extremely happy with it.
Yes surrounds generally fall into two categories for most people:
1) heard but not seen
2) IMAX level monsters
Maybe Dennis can at least suggest a small PE cabinet and drivers to pop in there with some crossover plans and you could add them to your build list

Currently I'm using two JBL LS100s for my surrounds. They're old, huge, and unsightly. So when I finally recoup some money and go searching for surrounds my GF will accept just about anything as long as they're smaller than those (which shouldn't be hard)
But next up are subs

It's a toss-up for me as I love the Phils with the Marantz, such a nice smooth option for 2 channel and, of course, theater. I have to stay in the 1K mark, since the surrounds are going to run the same.
Also, don't think Dennis could recommend PE as I am looking at 5 X 7 size surrounds, that was the order on the wall!!!![]()
Aha....yes, I have seen those Line Arrays, there look cool and narrow too, less obtrusive looking, bet they sound great.
Good luck on the subs!

Ah, I understand about the surrounds and yes Marantz is a great brand.
After the subs I'm seriously thinking about those line arrays. Maybe next year

Well, less obtrusive except for the almost 20 inch height difference

Thanks, hopefully you'll post more pics of the rearranged setup when it all gets sorted out.

You may also consider removing the verbiage regarding the upcoming price increase following CAS since that has already come and gone.
Nice site btw.

Hey fuzz, I'm not sure if I recall correctly or not but I think you designed the new philharmonicaudio.com site right? If so I just wanted to let you or whomever know that you left the title of many of the web pages as Academic Education.
You may also consider removing the verbiage regarding the upcoming price increase following CAS since that has already come and gone.

Yea I am aware of that, but somehow forgot to put it on my list, so thanks for reminding me! Currently I'm compiling a list of things that need fixing + changes I want to make to clean up the website a little + additions/extensions of things already there. The list is already daunting, but hopefully I'll start chipping away at it once my entertainment stand is done and installed.
Thanks again, and if anybody else finds anything that needs fixing please let me know. You can post here or send me a PM. Like Dennis, I'm a one man operation so things are going to slip through the cracks so I'm wide open to people finding fixes or giving suggestions. I've already had a few people give suggestions about restructuring the website a little, or changing this or that. Feel free to add.
So far this is what I have for fixes:
-website titles
-thumbnails
-certain pictures are distorted
-adding a news add-on showing that the price increase is in effect
-compiling a list of FAQ's for the forum
-getting the forum going
Here's what I have for suggestions
-online order form
-WMPA gets it's own page putting more emphasis on the donations
-possibly consolidating the speaker categories into just "speakers"
-better home page title (more flourishy)
-cleaning up some of the blank space on the bottom of the home page
-making the "subscribe to newsletter" more prominent and easier to find
-finding items to fill the "website under construction" spaces
I have a question to throw out there: Do you guys think credit card support is all that important? I highly doubt that it is since it would actually mean an additional price increase of about $150 on top of all the other costs, but I thought I'd ask anyways.
I'm also wondering two things: Would people who have purchased the speakers so far have appreciated more of a digital order form? Would prospective buyers like to see an online type of order form with a more streamlined payment option?
Thanks guys, feel free to post or PM with feedback and responses.

I think, based on looking at the pictures, the moral of this story is that I need more things to fill those empty spots. Possibly an oppo BDP-93 would fill that blu-ray spot a little better as well.........

Yes, yes, yes a 93.....I do think that was a marvelous upgrade for me. I had the Panasonic BD-85 and it was great, but the upscaling of the 93 is close to Bluray in some instances.
Is it worth it to me, even some scenes on streaming HD with netflix look bluray as well.
The Phils, SR-7005 Marantz and OPPO are winning combos.
