It's been designed; the Fountek tweeter used in the Phil 1s mated to a pair of 5" midwoofers in an M-T-M alignment.

Jay

I have a small MTM horizontal design with the Fountek tweeter and the Seas ER15 woofers and a slotted front port, but the cabinet will have to be custom made domestically until I can get delivery on some Asian cabinets. I'm not sure of the price yet, but it would be around $500 initially.

Yeah I can attest to how true both statements are. In my main theater room, I have the BG Radia CC-LCR (now the SA-360) up front with the Neo8, and in my other room I have the Salk ST with the RAAL. Makes me want to hear the Philharmonic speakers which combine them both.....
Then again, like Nuance has said, maybe I should just stop visiting the forums.

Lot of pics

I will tomorrow with my initial thoughts, but for now I couldn't be more impressed!

I feel like I have been saturated by immersion in a liquid/steep of enveloping music/movies til I am exhausted.

I will have pics as you guys will be stunned by the Philhamonitor 2's size, appearance and performance.

And the finish of the 2s, well, pics won't do justice with the cabinet quality and finish. The grills are really nice.
Good morning everyone.....Wow! I am still exhausted....must be the age...ugh!!!

Carrying in those bottoms of the 2s was a challenge, almost didn't make it. Not as heavy as they are ackward!!! No WAF there, sorry, Dennis!

First impressions of the Philhamonitors just took my breath away. I thought the CAOW1s were big for monitors, but these are enormous and the sound was too. I really.....really like the Fountek and bass, well while at Dennis' he took those babies down to 28hz successfully. The pictures on the wall rattled!

I said I wanted more bass to avoid a sub and he did it.

Watched a movie with the Philharmonic 2 towers, the ape,one don't bother with it. I was very pleased as you were more immersed in the movie rather listen to speakers. Then more music with the Onk/XPA-5 via Pure audio mode, 2 channel only, no sub. Felt like all 7 speakers were banging away. And, they harmonized with the Direct Servo Sub.

So, far there is no issues, very happy with everything.

Oh, Ben found a new friend and my wife likewise......I will up load a couple of pics, he sure has grown, no more puppy there!

The Pics, Philharmonitor 2, Philharmonic 2, grills, posts connecting the Fountek/Neo8 to the woofer and my wife's best new friend.....Big Big Ben!!

Pics of the grills that are really nicely done....

You can see the size of the monitors by my hand there.... Dissapointed with the grills on the monitors.....very good quality, however, the magnets are either missing or too deep in the enclosure. Will have to call PE on that one.

Lot to do with wiring, callibration, adding spikes and pads on the bottoms.

Glad you finally got your speakers. I know it's been a long time coming!

Of course you know now you'll have to offering auditions.

I'm sure you will some experimenting with positioning, but where do you have them now? For example, how far is it from the front of the Phil2 to the wall behind it?

Again, congrats and enjoy!

PS - more pics are welcome.

Thanks, again, Brandon, I am very, very happy. Still lots of adjustments/positioning to experiment with.

Ok, guys, I will try to get some more pics up. I can really say the quality of the cabinets/grills are really well done. The PE piano gloss finish is just superb on the monitors !

I tell you Dennis really hit it with these monitors, really do love them. Hope to get some more auditioning in. In comparison with the CAOW1s....well Dennis said the Fountek was smoother/airier than the OW2 tweet and I agree with him. I do not hear any distinctive distortion with these. And the bass, wow, just perfect and plenty for me at 4' away. Overall sound huge and at start up it was like the CAOW1s......X......5, but better all the way around....think Dennis knows exactly what we are looking for.

But, with the Phil 2s, they sound great, but as for as the defusers/placement/amp settings, I am working on that. I do have them against the wall for now (that could change), and they sound great, like having all 7 speakers playing, they just seem to dissappear. Also, I have not installed spikes yet, so that needs to be done.

As you all know my Mom died and I will be returning to Texas to settle her estate. So, everything will be sporatic for awhile, but maybe I can take some more closer pics!

All in all, I am still very, very happy and looking forward to commenting further on these. They are exactly what I was looking for, except the Phil 2's size, they are HUGE!! Glad I didn't get the 3's. Whew!

I think i would had already ordered the phiharmonic 2 if it wasnt the large imposing size for my smallish room.
I wonder if Dennis could be a little brother of the philharmonic.
Thanks for the pics, Robert. So do you have an idea how far off the back wall the Philly's will reside? Also, did you stuff the midrange fully, half way, none, etc?
Very nice they look beautiful!
Great pics.

Take your time with the listening impressions. I know you have alot to deal with right now.

Howdy.....I think Dennis stuffed each about halfway.

He said "the amount of fill adjusts the rear radiation from the midrange. The deepest soundstage will be provided with no fill, but in most rooms some fill will be desirable to reduce reflections and possible coloration in the midrange. Using all of the fill provided will basically convert the speakers to conmventional front radiators."

He did give ample, extra fill should I choose to add more.

I am still playing around with them, so I will report back.

I am hoping when I am done, I will be able to pull them away approximate 2 feet from the back wall and the cabinet, first the spikes (have those), then some type of glides or sliders.....any suggestions?

Just played the song......"Bass machine" by Techno Bass Crew using search on Grooveshark.com as the deep bass is powerfully accentuated and these just pumped it out....amazing. More than enough for me. Maybe I can get some measurements of these Philharmonitors.
