Z68 Compatibility issues?

Hi

I recently upgrade my HTPC from an E8400 to a icore3 2100T on a Gigabyte Z68 board. As part of this upgrade, I moved my old Lynx 2b card into the Z68 and now I no longer get any sound.

I know the card is fine as it works perfectly in my main PC and I have reinstalled windows several times.

I was wondering if any of you had similiar issues with the Z68 and what solution you came up with.

Thanks.

Do you have the appropriate 32 or 64 bit drivers?

I do have the correct 32 bit drivers.

What I tried so far:
- Onboard + Nvidia sound disabled
- Clean install of windows
- Bios update of board
- Latest drivers of card
- Test card in another PC (fine)
- Test onboard sound to confirm win7 sound is working ok (fine)

Are there any settings in bios that you need to change to bypass the onboard audio?

Yes, I tried disabling onboard audio in the bios and Nvidia HDMI audio out in Win7.

I don't know anything about the Lynx 2b card. What does this do for you that you can't do with the on-board sound?

I think it does ASIO sound and possibly has onboard DAC.

Why would you buy a V8 when a Smart car would do?

Seriously, It has really high quality DACS and I use the card as a pre-amp to feed my Denon receiver. With onboard sound, the receiver does all the work.
