Finally got my second amp back today. For some reason they shipped me a 2800 along with a 4000. They took care of it but set me back almost 2 weeks. I think I am just going to try and use rubber mounts on the stock fans first before changing them. The mounts quieted the fans in the wall unit down a lot.

20x20x23 just over 4cf internal not including bracing or driver.

It was quick just to use the vinyl covering. You can barely see any of the cabinet even with the grills removed so going to great lengths on the finish seemed pointless to me.

I had done a quick run with YPAO with one sub hooked up then later hooked up the other in mono mode with one amp. Was a bit dissapointed. Could tell they went deep but there was no punch to the bass. This was due to only about 800-900w per sub. Hooked up the other amp today (one each bridged per sub) and it gave me a big smile. I ran two more dedicated circuits to the wall unit this week and ran #10 wire so I could do 30a circuits. Think the 20a breakers I have in the panel will be fine for now. Still need to get the amps into their permanent location and hook up the AS-EQ1. Should be even happier with the results then.

I thought there might be some criticism for the bracing. The driver pretty much consumes the entire front baffle and the magnet goes past the midpoint of the box. Guess I could have done a tic-tac-toe type brace. I chose to do minimal bracing and keep the internal volume as high as possible due to my very specific box dimensions required. Had no plans to use 18's just decided to try and shoe horn them in when I got fed up with waiting over 5 months for the Rythmik kits. There is not much, if any vibration on the cabinet surface at what would be my normal music levels. Yesterday put on a rap song that I do not listen to and set the volume up to -15 and it was very loud. Closed up the house and went outside to see how much I would be bothering the neighbors. Not to bad really. I could feel entire outside of the house was vibrating with the "booms" when my hand was placed on the outside wall. I do feel the cabinet surface slightly vibrating when the volume is that high. IMO the bracing is fine. Everything else is vibrating more though so I dont think I will notice any coloring of the bass. There are not any buzz's or rattles in the room at this point. Had to work today so no time to play. Hope to finish set up and get some measurements next week.

You should be able to see the recess of the double baffle in the pics. Was actually worried about the single thickness driver mount point after handling the drivers. Smashed my finger pretty good setting one of the drivers in place, those things are heavy! What happened with my PM's? I know it seemed like I was maybe dragging my feet, but I was just busy with work. no big deal though,

Thanks. The speakers are vintage Polk RTA TL's. Bought them new. The center is one of the towers with a DIY cabinet. Dragging my butt today, it has been a long week. Trying to get up the energy to make a trip to Radio Shack to get a project enclosure for the switching relay to turn the Behringers on and off.

Finished the switching relay and have everything installed. Have been trying to troubleshoot an annoying hum that comes into play when the AS-EQ1 is inserted inbetween the AVR and sub amps. Have not had a lot of time to tweak. Did find some time today to do a quck run with Omnimic. have not had a lot of time with that program either. Here is a full range graph with my two mains and the two subs crossed at 80hz. Graph is 1/6th octave.

I have to say I am quite happy with these subs at this point. I was running them at 60hz crossover for a time. They seem to have been broken in at this point and sound quite good up past the 80hz region now. I am surprised at how "musical" they are. I used my Yamaha's peq to get the house curve more to my liking and it is working well. I am going to try a balanced MiniDSP and remove the AS-EQ1 in the near future for a more flexible eq option and to try and get input levels for the Behringers up a bit. The Yamaha's peq only goes into the 30hz area. I have found that about 4-6db hot over the AS-EQ1 recommended setting is where I like them. Not that it matters but with movies at +10db I still cannot hit the clip lights on the external amps. Not even with Hulk or HTTYD. A higher low level signal should help to lower the noise floor right?
