Hello everyone. I recently got a great deal on a used Fujitsu lifebook e8420 laptop (P8600 core2 duo 2.4ghz, NVIDIA 9300m with HDMI connection, 4gb DDR3 ram) with a clean install of Win7 Ultimate from a friend. I was able to stream 1080p Youtube videos to my HDTV without any issues so I'm going to go ahead and try to use it as an HTPC. I do have 2 questions.

1. I've cut the cord so the HD content I get is via an over the air HD antenna. I'd like to use the laptop as a DVR and. I'm leaning towards the Hauppauge. However, I'm not sure if I can add a card or if I have to go with a USB solution. Here's the technical specs link:

2. The hard drive on this is pretty small so I'm going to need an external hard drive to store the media on. Any recommendations on this? My plan is to use it for the shows I would record and when I take the plunge and learn how to rip my DVD collection to the hard drive (never have done this. Heck I've only burnt one cd in my entire life).

I really would appreciate any help you can provide because I'm pretty new to all this. Thanks.
