Other than starting yet another Bose bashing thread...
Why don't you go pick up the free speakers and sell them (garage/yard sale)? Other than gas/mileage, clear profit for you.

Years ago I set my parents up with a kick butt Klipsch setup, They had given me a 5,000 budget and I set them up with the higher end Klipsch 7.2 setup that rocked the house. Then one year I come home for the holidays and notice that the beautiful system is no longer there, but (aghast) a Bose Lifestyle system is sitting there. So I question Mom and Dad like a veteran cop interrogates a witness about how they could let this happen. My father chimes in with "Well your mother..." normally after he says this, I know nothing further he says needs to be uttered. Anyway he continues that the salesman at the store conned (oops I mean convinced) my dear sweet, impressionable naive mother that "Bose was the best" so she bought a Lifestyle 15 system and and gave away (yes you got that right) gave away the Klipsch setup to my 12 year old neice (who by the way loves the system that Grandma and Grandpa gave her). So they have this Bose POS and I explain for two hours how what they did was wrong and to please always call me when it comes to anything H/T. Needless to say one year later they call me and want to upgrade their "lousy" sounding Bose and get that in your face sound they had with the Klipsch. So 5,000 more dollars and they have another 7.2 setup they love. They asked if as payment for setting this up, If I wanted the Bose system. I told them to give it to my brother. I hate my brother.

Awesome story. However, why didn't they just trade the Bose with your niece and saved $5k? If she complained, they could just say, "F$&@ you, you're 12."

Folks couldn't do that, once they gave the system to her, it was hers and she is a grunge girl who likes to jam music loud and I even think she would laugh at the Bose system. My folks are at that age where they would rather blow the money than try it take it with them to the grave. I still recall the look on my fathers face when he was was explaining how my mother swears it sounded better than the Klipsch system. Never saw a man's eyes roll so far back into his head before.
