Three years I've had this remote.
And still no urge to buy another.
Quite possibly, the best hard button-remote ever created.

I've dropped mine a few times and it still looks & works like new.
Will there ever be a successor to this style of remote??

Hi Eddie,

I'm not sure if you're asking if there will be a sucessor to the middle-high end wand / hard button / LCD hybrid, or, the 980 specifically.

While I don't think the URC TC-780 / MRX-10 is a replacement, it shows where URC is going with 2-way communication and TCP/IP integration. With Pronto, and perhaps Nevo out of the game, it leaves URC, RTI, and Control4 in this middle market space. Of course Crestron and AMX still cover the high end.

Everything else is iDevice / aDevice based these days. Inexpensive, DIY friendly, but still a touchscreen only solution.
