This line from the website is pretty funny:

"In order to check out equipment from Love Library, a user must first receive a short orientation on how to use that piece of equipment . . ."

You and me both. I got tired of being limited by traction, which is why I bought the STi.... Although, I've spun all 4 tires a time or two.

Because of the blower I went with (and that it's a high RPM type of engine), My power is up top... The sucker never stops building power until I let off the throttle (8k RPM). http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4058_large.jpg

I'm trying to get back traction in 2nd gear and picked up these... Two are 8" wide, the other are 9".

I have a digital SLR camera and a sony 1080p camcorder that has a hard drive on it...both should be easy to use and transfer the pictures and video to the web and the forum afterwards.

I also have another point and shoot for another person to take random pictures of the day if they want.

I was thinking of person responsibilities:

desertdome: EQ
huskeromaha: data collection/forum updates/food-drink/general coord/tallying
__________: point and shoot camera (random pictures during the day)
__________: SLR camera (subs and EQ shots, all "formal" shots during GTG)
__________: Sony HD Cam (short videos of different subs, EQ process,
crazy expressions, air movement, can lights shattering, drywall
flexing, wife coming home/yelling, cops arriving, dog scared,
neighbors yelling, earthquake epicenter developing)
__________ (everyone else): sub carrying and general organizing

So, do we have any nominations/volunteers?

The camera is a Canon Xsi if that helps. I'm not even that great at using it, my wife is, but the family will be gone for the day of course.

I will be bringing my point and shoot and would like to snap a few dozen pics, although I won't be there until early afternoon.

I can do golf claps and jazz hands pretty well, too.

Let me know if you need more woofage, I have double 18's (the only ones ever returned to Chase ). I can bring one or more.

I would very much enjoy attending. Id like to take pics as well. I have Nikon D7000. If not needed for pics can I still take personal pics? Coming from Council Bluffs. Do I need to contact you or rsvp?
I'd also be very happy to help with anything needed.

PM sent.
We probably won't need your sub unless it isn't on the list and IS a heavy hitter. Big boys contest.

Your engine looks tight!!! wow!

I've been in a car sorta like that - in that it builds up power up top!!! --- it was a hopped up mustang with a centrifugal supercharger --- down right crazy - it dynoed right near 500HP at the wheels --- It was very odd in that it was sort of pathetic at peeling the tires tires off the line (basically seemed worse than a stock v8 mustang - definately not like a 500 HP mustang) but at about 3,000 or 3500 RPM it would break the tires loose even in a perfect straight line and just not stop - RPM's would race to red line immediately. He could cut it loose like that going down the highway at 65mph and peel the tires with a throttle mash once the RPMs cleared about 4,000 (at that speed) --- that's the only car I've ever been in that you didn't have to drop the clutch at those types of speeds to peel the tires -- he could just mash the throttle---odd and unique to my limited experience with high powered cars. On my Grand Prix my torque is all down low RPMS, with the modified stock GP roots type supercharger. My car didn't ever amount to having a bunch of horsepower. At the Dynojet it hit 257HP and 400ft/lbs TQ at the wheels. Using a pretty typical (and perhaps overly optomistic) 20% or so for parasitic loss of the auto tranny we are lookin at somewhere a tad over 300HP and 480ft/lbs of torque at the crank. Basically just a smoke grenade four door, but still kinda fun, and it does raise some crazy expressions when I smoke the tires for someone who doesn't expect it to have all that power The car does not lack in speed. It has a heads up display that puts the mph on the windshield, I hit 155mph on I-70 one day when it hit redline and rev limiter. The car had very good summer rated 18" Pirelli P-zero tires on it for that speed run and this burnout video. (the aftermarket DHP PCM I purchased coupled with the XP cam removed the speed limiter - among other goodies) Those tires are all worn out and I'm back to stock OEM style 16" tires now, and a few years older and wiser. I never went that fast before or since, and tires are expensive now that I'm supporting a family - so my smoke shows now are infrequent at best...

Here's a video of the Grand Prix at the KC Chief's stadium doing a quick burnout. We're just a bunch of KC red necks around here if you can't tell by my friends camera comments

Sorry for the distraction --- back to subwoofer talk...

BTW - I'll do whatever --- I can record some video and I'll be happy to move subs around too. I'm big and clumsy - you don't want me holding your expensive cameras, but I can manage a camcorder okay.
Mine is a bit of a top-end car. it'll rip them lose in 2nd gear rolling onto the throttle.

Okay, sorry for the derailment.

I must have grown up in the wrong town. I've never understood trickin out all of these sedans and such but those engines do look sweet.
I'm like the Vin Diesel type from Fast/Furious. I was straight muscle.

I wonder what 155 is like in a car with proper steering ability. I hit 120 in my '65 fastback and got so scared because I wasn't steering anymore the front end was literally floating. I was 16. Haven't had the urge to do that again.

Technosponge-you are officialy the picture dude! Bring that Nikon over and go to town. Thanks for offering!

Big and clumsy-you sound like a perfect sub mover. Hired. Just don't dent my walls, doors, dog, chairs, etc.

That graph of yours is very impressive! Just keeps on going up!!!

VASTLY different from my grand prix dyno graph!!

My torque curve peaks at about 3,000-3,500ish RPM and then starts slowly dropping off. Yours seems to peak at about 6,500 RPM. My HP never really takes off like yours! Your car sounds like a hoot to drive!

Alright --- Greg --- we are sorry.
why isnt epik repped in that list?

i hit 135 routinely in my bmw on the turnpike, i get crazy corvettes tailing me. i normally go 110 but i don't understand the need to tail; if you want to take advantage of my cop spidey sense, you can sstay a little farther back. i'm not goin to win any race against a corvette...

Is that a '66, or maybe a '65? Looks like a '66 from the hood pins. You've modded it too much I can't tell from the rear lights!
I would love to hear and ride in that sucker.

I blame Archaea for ruining this thread, assisted by HH, YamahaSHO, elmalloc, me....

We need Ricci or desertdome to post something of worth in here.

I hope you are kidding. I dig sarcasm. You did look at the list and know how large some of these subs are, right?

once more I break trust here...

That new white mustang is downright sexy! That is the JL Fathom of these cars we've been talking about.

See -- I tied it back to subwoofers didn't I?

It's a friend of mines, 64 1/2, carbon fiber hood, 302, 507HP @ 7500 RPM 411 TQ @ 5500 RPM on the Dyno 9" rear-end 486 gears 16 1/2 wide tires 31 1/2 tall
Lot more goodies but you get the idea, the white Mustang is a 2012 BOSS 302, most fun to drive car I've ever owned on the track and street.

Back to Topic.

Went and got nebrunner's DTS-10, EP4000 amp, and JTR Growler today.
It is going to take a few peeps to get that DTS10 downstairs, it is a beast.

Staging area in garage for subs.

Storage room rack starting to get full of amps.

Anyone played Transformers 3 at -10 or higher yet?

Played it through the F20s and maybe we should try to include it as a clip. Seems to have a ton of crazy bass-thinking the highway scene from the time the three decepticons start transforming chasing sentinel prime to the part where bumblebee transforms to dodge traffic while throwing sam in the air.

I dig.
I watched it at -10 - lots of bass, but somehow still not as impressive as #2 for me - I think mainly of that one slow mo scene in the warehouse, sort of a backflip or whatever, where the bass digs lower and lower - killer.

Overall, agree. But play the bumblebee slow mo again, you'll like it. Maybe we will just have slo mos.

KCNitro07 and I took off a half day on Friday. We can leave KC probably as early as 1:30PM or 2PM or a bit later if you prefer to avoid your dinner time.

We will be binging the two JTR Captivators, the BIC F12, and I can also bring the Yamaha CW218V (dual 18" pro audio subs) if you'd like me to bring it to compare to other similar subs there. At the KC meet it was mated with a pretty crappy amp, because that's all I had at the time. It is a better preformer on my EP4000 amp. When I tested the American Audio V3000 amp (used on the Yamaha sub at the KC meet) against an EP4000 amp on single Captivator the Cap was about five or six dB louder on the EP4000 amp. That being said the $700 CW218V, though a nice sub, won't touch the Captivators in deep extension. The emminance drivers in the Yamaha aren't suited for much under 30hz - though they are a LOT of fun for music. If too many subs and no interest I'll just leave the Yamaha home.

If you have room, go ahead and bring the Yamaha if people want to hear it, and we can listen to it at the end if we have time.......

I'm negotiating with the wife on getting a start time nailed down, I'm hoping for 9am but not sure she can get out of the house with the kids by then.

We will probably have to hide out friday night in the basement most of the night, which shouldn't be a problem I suppose. We can recheck equipment and move subs around to have them in order in the garage so everything goes smoothly too.

Do you think you guys will drive back Saturday night?

Depends on what time we finish. If it was really late ending (say midnight'ish) we thought we might just crash at your place again sat. night and clear out early sun morning. However - if your wife is not excited about that idea and would like to reclaim the house saturday night (I totally understand that) we could just hit up a motel if it gets that late sat night. No worries either way or whichever! I'm very flexible.

I'll probably just plan on you guys staying Saturday night as well; I don't want anyone driving home 3 hours tired--plus we need to have some brews when it is all done......

I was trying to draw up a seating chart of sorts, and there are probably half of the people attending that will be in and out, so for those that are going to be there the whole time I was thinking of something like this....

SCREEN WALL

Kwarny Archaea Nitro07 stormwind13

BAR

Desertdome HuskerOmaha Craigsub TechnoSponge

YamahaSHO doesn't know if him and his Klipsch will make it, nebrunner will come in the afternoon to hear his DTS10/Growler and others, and I'm not sure if bighick and Dr Spankenstein are coming by or just letting us borrow their subs for the day. A few others are dropping in but haven't said they will be there the whole time. I have a few folding chairs.

Was thinking we need those that will score all of the subs in the same seats the whole time.

If you are/aren't coming for the whole day, let me know and I can rearrange names/add seats.

This is just a rough idea, obviously we can do whatever people want.

Man...I'm so envious of you guys. If I was within a reasonable drive I'd be there! Ya'll are going to have a blast.

This may have been covered, but I haven't read the entire thing. I may have even said this myself??? But could you consider using Scubasteve's second demo disc for material? It's got most of the heavy hitters on it, and is something that many of us have for point of reference in our own systems.

Lots of photos guys! Can't have enough.
