Im in with Optoma HD3300. That would be incredible. Wish I had the space to do.

Optoma HD72 and BenQ W6000.

I don't know anything about projectors, though.

Lets do it. Should I host again?

Back to Subwoofers, I'm going to start posting random information now.

Here is the signal chain:

HTPC -> Steinberg MR816x > Cherry Jr. > Mains
> Cherry Monoblock > Center
> Emotiva Amp > Surrounds
> Subwoofer amp/amps
>Subwoofers

Congratulations, Michael! I know this is a momentous event for you and your wife.

Just got done putting together handout #1.

"Spectrum Analysis of the Frequency Domain showing Maximum Output"

Michael ran a bunch of the scenes (would have them all, but apparently a baby got in the way! ) so that listeners know what kind of Hz content they SHOULD be hearing represented in the demo tracks.

On to #2.

Grading Chart, Lineup List, and PPT slides + notes section all printed.

We will definitely have some modifications, but I won't have the printing ability to make tons of copies at home tomorrow so we will just have to pencil stuff in.

if you need something printed, email it to me. I have a color laser printer.

I'm actually not nervous about the cops getting called, the bass resonates loudly to my first floor but doesn't go much above that.

We are in the basement surrounded by concrete and dirt, maybe that is different from past incidences with the police?

If they came to the door, would you even hear them lol? Not sure how your neighborhood is laid out but you may want to have a friendly "heads up" chat with a few of the neighbors if that seems appropriate (didn't read the entire thread, maybe you are already doing this).

Seems like if it's explained ahead of time as some type of "technical/scientific study on sonic transducers" that might go over better...otherwise it might just look like a typical bunch of guys coming over to drink beer and party.

Yeah, I haven't really told anyone yet, I'll probably go across the street and tell my one neighbor that actually is social to text me if he can hear things that far away and they are bothersome.

After a few dropouts and unavailability, it looks like the final lineup will include:

Dual MFW-TURBOS
DIY Quad MFW-15 Sealed
DIY Dual LilMike Designed Cinema F20s
DIY Rythmik
DTS10/JTR Growler
Single BICF12 (bighick, where have you gone for the dual hookup?)
eD A7s-450
CHT Dual SS 18.1
CHT Dual VS 18.1
JTR Dual Captivator Pro

We may leave out the HSU combo due to time constraints.
YamahaSHO and his wife had to be out of town, so it looks like his DIY Klipsch sonotub is out of the question (might have won WAF!) Stormwind13 is bringing his SS 18.2 in case it is needed.

Craig Chase (CHT) and Jeff Permanian (JTR) will be here; along with speakers from their companies. (SHO-10, Single 8x, Triple 12x/8x?)

Might be able to set up a quick 2 channel listening setup upstairs with the speakers for attendees for the downtime between sub setups.

The final clip lineup consists of around 30 minutes of movies/music with a 75/25 split respectively. Lots of fun clips, but I guess I should keep something secret for the guys showing up. New stuff like Transformers 3 and the usual stuff from past GTG and scubasteve demodisc.

Should be a fun day of discussion and demos.

We are definitely going to have to hear 4 of these cht subs together.

So late yesterday I was talking to Jeff about this crazy idea of his to drive ~8hrs to play with a herd of subwoofers in Omaha, NE. With his birthday a few days away I inquired how he planned to make it back for some festivities Sunday... Long story short, I offered to help split the drive, especially that drive back Saturday night.

At the moment we are well into Iowa, so I look forward to catching up with many of you tonight & tomorrow!

WOW! ...just wow!

Luminaries aplenty! I feel the impending lightening of my back account...

Mark, you are bringing one of those new Submersives, right?

So, I need to make the wife take the checkbook away with her, or I'll be stealing the boys college money on something from one of these guys!

I think I picked one of the worst possible weekends to be low on cash in history.

I picked one of the worst weekends to live in Southern California. Well, maybe that's a stretch. But still, jealous - have a great time guys!

As a resident of the great state of New York I want to wish you folks a wonderful GTG!
While we cosmopolitan types want for nothing here in the utopia that is Brooklyn, this event feels rather momentous and is inducing sporadic twinges of envy and jealousy :-)

While I can't speak for the rest of my east coast brethren, lots and lots of pictures and commentary will make the bitter pill of not being there much easier for me to swallow.

Have a grand weekend gents, enjoy and be safe!

+1. I am definitely a little jealous of this get together. I think we need a east coast get together like this. I have a submersive hp and possibly a submersive f2 in the near future that I am willing to bring to a get together.

For everyone participating this weekend, just remember this is supposed to be a fun hobby. Don't let any testing, bickering or the inevitable fan boys get in the way of that. And hopefully everyone will learn something with the different OEMs that are going to be represented.

Looking at the above pictures (like they were in a Playboy magazine foldout), I found myself drooling. Homer Simpson moment!

Talk about shock and awe! Even that DTS-10 is starting to look small in the corner! The garage is your weapons magazine!
