Sacramento ABC - KXTV 10-01

Lately I am getting alot of pixelation around objects such as people on this station. It's like a very fine outline, 1 or 2 pixels wide.

Is anyone else seeing this, or is it just my setup?

I am running a Dish 6000 and my signal strength is in the mid 80's, like all the other Sacramento stations, but the others look fine.

This problem started to occur about 2 weeks ago and has not gone away.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

I have not noticed. I do use the D6000 too. I will check again.

Could it be the "Zipper" effect? ABC's 720p signal has to be 'centered' left and right on the D6000. Tune to 10-1, then go into the HDTV Setup menu and choose Adjust, use the arrow keys to move the screen left and right and you will see the "Zipper".

Yep, that was it.

Thanks to Mike Cappi, he sent me a message to give him a call to talk about this just after I posted it. One of the first things he mentioned was this oddity, but said if that wasn't it that he would work with me to figure it out. Thanks again Mike.

It seems that my girlfriend had adjusted the centering to compensate for one of the other channels that does a weird squeeze mode (not 16:9, not 4:3, something between) that was off center. I've instructed her not to ever press the Menu button again, so everything should be okay now. ;)

Thanks alot for the responses guys.

On the other hand many of us would die for a girlfriend or wife who would go beyond menu buttons. Can you believe how far this can bring our HT hobby? Instead we get those who could care less about our toys and hope all the money spent on our gears could be used on their shoes.

Geez, my wife can't even turn my system on. God forbid she wants to watch an anamorphic dvd.
