Figured I would start this as this set is starting to hit the streets. Who will be the first to own it and post impressions. Chris from CP, have you received them and will you be cracking one open :-)
According to Cleveland Plasma's website they're in stock.

I bought the 732 and just up graded to the 735 from BB for just the difference in price. I had 45 days to try it out but the tech that calibrated it only used the user mode and on page 27 of the manual it states to set the Gamut range you have to be in Movie mode.On the 732 thread a member who did calibrations mentioned that that made a differene in how the picture turned out. I never got it the way I liked compared to my LG so I get the 735 tomorrow and another 45 days for it. If the 935 comes out in that time frame I can change again to the 935. that is the TV I really wanted. So has anyone got the 735 yet and how is the picture quality? I'll keep you posted. I know 240 Hz won't make that much of a difference but am hoping for a different type panel may make it a little brighter. The 935 will have local dimming and Googeling it got me to the CES review that said it was a very good display. Here's hoping.

There are no 935 panels in the marketplace and so CNET would have to be comparing panels at CES from 8 months ago which aren't the production models.

It's not even certain that there will be a 935 model since the Flagship X5FD Elite debuts 8/4 and there may not be a reason for a 935. No one knows for certain but that info may be provided with Sharps Press Conference Thursday 8/4 when they debut the Elite 60"/70" units.

It would make a nice tier alternative to the Elite perhaps but there's been no mention of it by Sharp since CES back in January. If the 935 still arrives it'll be amazing how 70" panels Sharp will have available.

Since the 732, 733, and 734 are essentially identical, it's amazing how many SKUs Sharp has for such little differentiation, Westa. And, sadly, I doubt we are seeing a 935 at this point.

I recieved my 735 today and out of the box I saw a uch better picture. I saw a much improved dark corner problem but still has a faint tint. I agree with Rogo on how many sku's they have but I took a gamble on the panel being different as it's 3-D and hoped for a little brighter picture than my 732 was. I still have to wait till the 23rd to get the glasses so I can't comment on anything else about the set till it gets calibrated too. I have 45 days to upgrade or return.I wonder who will carry the X5FD and what it will cost??? Any info on it as far as what panels it will use? 30 days to get it calibrated which is disapointing but thats what you get from BB but I was only charged the price difference. I'll keep in touch.

Kee68, thank you for posting. Can you be so kind enough to include some pictures for us all

So do any owners have any reviews yet? Yesterday came and went with a wimper.

All of the retailers in my area that said they were getting them in didn't. The few online retailers that have them are selling them in the $4K range. That's a grand more than the 732/733/734.

I believe there is only one known owner thus far. Chris at CP has them well under the price you stated.
Yeah, I just noticed that at CP. I checked their price right after I posted and thought oops. Still waiting for some reviews to come in. It's tough because a local retailer has a crazy good price on the 732 this weekend only.

I think the owner reported the corners being better (I personally dont notice them) but then you are simply adding 3d. Not sure if thats worth the price premium for you
post #13 of 1646
Does anyone know have many pairs of 3D glasses this set comes with and how much for additional pairs?
What's up everyone? I've trolled this site randomly a few times over the years but just now stumbled on this thread while looking for calibration settings for my new 70LE735.

I own the set but honestly I'm no videophile, if you'd like pictures or anything let me know. I purchased it at a BB Magnolia store the day they were opening the box for the display model and it was delivered on 8/4. I'm trying to get the picture tweaked so I can decide if I like it enough to keep it instead of waiting for the 65" sony HX929.

@Dafish - I worked a deal with the BB guy to knock off a few hundred bucks and he threw in 2 pairs of 3D glasses as the set did not come with any. The receipt said they were valued @ $100 each.

In for reviews. I'm still waiting to see what the Sharp Elite models (or 935) bring. I really want a 70" set but the 732 wasn't going to get me past the Panasonic VT30. Not sure this set will do it either but I hope the Elite will.

The Sharp Elite is ridiculously overpriced. I want a 70" also and the top of my list is the 735. I am disappointed that the 735 does not come with 2 pairs of 3D glasses like other new Sharp TVs do. $500-$600 premium for the addition of 3D only with no 3D glasses is kind of shocking. The glasses would kinda justify the premium price (you can pick them up for $80 a pair on Amazon).

I to am also interested in the reviews of the Sony 65" 65HX929 I just don't know if I want to wait until ??September?? or when ever it is supposed to come out. Seems the reviews on the 55" Sony 929 are good.

As for the Sharp 935 it was posted on a different thread today that Sharp would not be producing a 935 this year and that they were considering it for next year. Here is the quote from Sharp.

Sharp AQUOS wrote: "Allen, sorry for the delay. The series that we showed at CES in January was canceled from our 2011 lineup. However, we are working on new models for 2012, and that kind of series is one that we are considering for next year. Thanks for your interest!"

Chris, am I wrong or these the same TVs as the 734 but the only addition is 3D and with NO 3D glasses? Sharp's other smaller 3D TVs come with 2 pairs of 3D glasses. Why would they not include them with this set?
I should have mine by next week and will post feedback.
I just recieved mine. Does anyone have setting for this tv?
Looking for some first hand feedback on the 735.

Does it have the same screen as the 732/733/734? Some people call it Matte, some Semi-Glossy. The important thing for me is that it performs just like the 732/733/734 in bright light (I have seen the other three, but not the 735).

Does anyone have any pictures of the 735 to post? Even a picture of the box?

Any other info? Really no 3D glasses included?

Has anyone tried watching any 50Hz input on it (e.g. 576i 50Hz PAL DVDs or 1080i/p 50Hz blu-rays). Sharp is usually reliable for displaying 50Hz and 60Hz input.

Thanks
i have the 735 3d. your right there's no 3d glasses included. the screen are is the same as the other model. you can make all the cable channel 3D that really cool. but if you going to used a 3d bluray player thats very exciting. direct tv has a 3d channel so you can watch it. anything more that you need to know"?
I have a 734 that a family member bought so I got a 735 as I got a real good local price on it today. It did come with 2 pairs of 3d glasses. I used some settings that I got from the 732-734 owners thread and got the 734 very close to what I consider good for me. I opened the 735 tonight and used some of the same settings and it seems to actually have a better picture quality somehow but nonetheless the PQ is great for me. Only problem I have is that the 735 has clouds and the 734 was very dark all around in dark settings. When I say it has clouds it has a lot of clouds , as in like 6 clouds all around the screen on a pure dark screen and also you can really notice them in dark movies that I tried. Is there anything I can do to correct this or is this just going to be the way the screen will always be? So is the 3d suppose to work without the glasses or are glasses required or does it just depend on the programming?

Thanks

That is correct, the 735 is the 734 with 3D.

Is the PQ of the 734/735 any better than the 732?
Both Best Buy and HH Gregg have the 735 on display in my area. Best Buy did not have it set up to view 3D.

I did not have a chance to really spend some time with them.
Looked at this set tonight at Best Buy and it looked great. Didn't get to see the 3D mode as it wasn't setup for that. It was next to the 60" and it looked huge compared to it.
Does anyone know if the 2D picture quality on the 735 is any better than on the 734? I've read that the increased circuitry in some 3D sets can improve the standard picture quality as well.

I'm trying to justify the $1000 cost difference between the two sets (panel price difference + glasses + new blu-ray player).
Does anyone know if you can turn off the blue light at the bottom of the set? It would be nice to be able to turn that off during night time watching. Thanks.
Does the 735 convert standard shows into 3d?
