632u is not 3D in case you are looking for this option.

the 844 is the next gen and has 3d. Plenty of very very favorable reviews for that set as well.

i dont think its a size comparison but how the panels resolve pq. The non quattron models like the 632 have been shown to have a better all around picture.

Oh my you guys are stressing me out. I dont care about 3D but I do like the soap opera effect very much. I currently have an older 52" philips 120hz tv and i want to go with the 60 or 70" sharp. I've read the entire thread. Just trying to decide if i should just get the 732U or the 734U. Is the 735u worth it for 2d ? It looks like the 732u may be the best value. Is the aquomotion 240 really any better than the 120hz? Also I cant help but buy online because the prices are so much cheaper not to mention no sales tax. i just very concerned about having a hassle with possibly having a broken or defective product from some online retailer a thousand miles away from my home. Any one have any problems ordering online ? Like east coast tvs, buy squad, powersellers, etc ?

If you don't care about 3D, then IMO there is no reason to get the 735. However, the 734 like the 735 does allow for a full 10 point calibration, which you can't do with the 732. I don't use 240 for motion enhancement and prefer setting it at 120 high.

you can, i.e. it's exposed in the user menus. BUT you need some sort of instrumentation and software to know how you should change it.

Hi guys, as standard definition will look not all that good when sitting nearby this 70" panel, I wonder if it is possible to view SD material in its native resolution, i.e. without filling the whole screen area. This way you would be able to get a decently sharp SD picture, and only use all the 70" screen real estate when looking at e.g. native 1080p or 720p material.

A setting like this would be a great option for a TV with this huge size.

Anybody have issues with the DLNA when streaming a movie and the forward/stop/rewind fucntions stop working? I've noticed that it works fine at the start of the movie but at some point later when I try to rewind or forward I get an error stating "Invalid operation" or something like that.

this thread is practically dead...haveing been an owner of a sony lcos set and a member of its thread from inception i see this as a good sign....although i miss the tips, tweeks and tricks available in the service menue so many were posting on that thread. after a while it became a complaint thread with so many optical block issues...i still visit there occasionally. but im glad that over here everyone is apparently enjoying a trouble free set as i am.smile.gif

Hi Strutter,

It was the same when I bought my Sammy 58 incher down in Oz, the TV came out - first three or four months plenty of posts with people discussing settings, mounts, glasses etc, then pretty soon after that when people started to sit and enjoy the TV, not many poeple posted back.

To be honest, I've only come on here as a very new owner to get advice on exaclty that, wall mount, glasses and settings, once I have that, I'll want to sit and enjoy the beast without looking for stuff on slides etc or freezing images to look at DSE or cell bleed, etc etc. I'll enjoy the TV for what it is, a very good huge TV for a very good price.

I'm enjoying the hell out of mine. No complaints. Picture looks great whether in bright sunlight or total darkness. Bd movies look great...cable has issues...but I have not found a way to fire them.

Hi Guys,

For anyone that has wall mounted this puppy, there is a note on page 77 of the manual in relation to wall mounting: "When you mount the TV on a wall, you should attach the supprting post"

Anyone know what "post" they are referring to ??

There is a new firmware update out for the 735u. 312U1206131. Not sure what it does.

Hello All,

I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anyone in this thread knows if this particular unit (Sharp LC-70LE735U) has had an "input lag" test conducted. I'm looking for a large LCD, LED or Plasma for gaming only. I will also post a reply in the input lag discussion forum for this unit but thought the owners of this one would be better at helping out.

i seem to remember a poster who did some gameing lag testing..dont recall any specifics...but my son (18) plays on ours all the time and only mentions occasional internet lag. no direct gaming lag.
