Color temp - when you select 10 point under color temp you'll see position 1 - you can change that to position 2 then 3 etc and you get RGB settings under each position.

Yea it's hard to find. You have to move from position +1 to +2 etc and set each one.

Guys have you tried my settings with the backlight all the way at +16? Sharp wants pix to exchange. Getting pix of my issue isn't easy, but it's there. Do you guys see clouds?
You guys think this will be enough to convince Sharp for an exchange?

So any gamers out there still on the fence about this TV I spent six hours last night playing the new Call of Duty for xbox 360 and this TV is just fantastic. I used the Cnet settings in Movie mode and the picture looked great. There was not even a hint of lag on this TV it was just awsome.

That's good to hear. Can you post a link to the CNET settings?
It's been posted before but here is the CNET link again. Only thing I changed is I'm using expanded color instead of standard cause wife likes the pop. And I have Motion Enhancment off.

I added the new position 2-10 settings you posted and it changed the settings I had altered somewhat closer to what you're calibrator had. My backlight is now +10, Contrast +32, brightness -2, Color +8 and tint -9. Thanks again for your settings post.
As far as the clouding, I exchanged mine (with Magnolia) less than two weeks after purchase for clouding less severe than yours. I still have some on the new set, but it's mostly along the left side and most severe at the top left - so I'm settling for it. Too bad these sets have this issue at all because otherwise I'm quite happy with mine. Mine doesn't show on a blue screen though, only black. I'd exchange that one for sure.
Do you know how to get just a black screen?

How do you get blue screen?
Mine just turn the tv on, and there is black screen right away.

But that black screen is with the backlights off. You need them on to see clouding. You could play a Blu-Ray or DVD and pause it during a fade to black, but before it goes completely black so you still have the backlights on- but an almost black screen. Or maybe your player allows a black screen choice for the background that displays when you turn it on, instead of a blue background.

Sharp is going to ask for a series of images. Here are the specifics:
* Send at least three (3) to five (5) photos as described below.
* All of the photos should be taken with active TV video on the screen rather than PC / Game system video or a plain black / grey screen. It is more helpful in diagnosing the issue.
* Take the photos directly in front of the TV (rather than at an angle).
* Turn off the camera flash to avoid reflections that can make the issue difficult to see.
* Be sure to use the highest resolution possible on your camera.

Please take at least three (3) full screen photos (showing the entire television screen and frame) with active TV video:
1. Press the MENU button on the remote control, and take a full screen photo with the TV Menu displayed.
2. Press the DISPLAY button, and take a full screen photo showing the on-screen display for every input available.
o On-screen display includes the input number, type of signal, resolution, audio type, etc.
3. Take a full screen photo without the TV Menu or on-screen display
4. Take any additional close-up photos that will help us identify the issue.
5. Take a photo of the model number and serial number sticker on either the rear or side of the unit.

Your issue needs to be visible under these conditions.

My set was delivered yesterday. Haven't even adjusted a single setting, popped in Sergio Leone's classic 'Once Upon a Time in the West', hit 'movie' mode and WOW! Fonda's eyes scared me more than I ever remember! Without a calibration this is already miles better than my Samsung Plasma A550. Tried out Toy Story 3 to check the 3D capabilities and DOUBLE WOW!

This is everything I hoped for. Very pleased I didn't go for the LG.

Congrats! Lucky you, you had 3D glasses right away. I had to wait over two weeks to try the 3D out because no glasses were available.

Thanks. I'm in Canada and our local Best Buy had plenty it seems. But man, $100+ each!

ok so i set up my irule using the newly posted sharp quatron network codes for my 735 but i cant get the set to turn on. i can turn it off with the codes and then right back on but if i leave it off for more than 30 seconds power on fails. its like the nic is going to sleep (hardwired and not wireless). ipcontrol is on and port 10002 is confiqured. irule appears to be ok and power savings are off as best i can tell. no opc. anybody been successful with this?
i will wait for any possible owner reply before posted in irule section. thanks

Hello everyone. I just purchased my set. I reviewed most of your comments and after having a Sony XBR4 for many years, I didn't see anything terrible wrong with the Sharp. I laugh that my XBR4 is now in my bedroom, while the Sharp will be in my main TV viewing area. Technology just keeps rolling along!

Would an 11ft viewing distance be too close for this thing? I know the distance calculator says no, but I want an opinions from people who own it.
Thanks, DD

My distance is 10.5 to 11 depending where on my long couch you sit. Absolutety a really fine distance for the 70735. Not too close at all. Watching football on this set is heaven. ENJOY!

THanks for this info.... what is your K/D ratio? Just curious as people who are really bad would not notice lag

thanks again

I sure would like my 73" "Mits" 835 DLP to develop a sickness. lol

Anyone seen the LC-70LE735U sub $2700? USD.
Anyone have an opinion on the PQ between the LC-70LE735U and the LC-60LE835U? I'd love the larger screen, but not at the scarifice of noticable loss of PQ. The TV is going into a room with no windows. I'd say a majority (65%) of viewing will take place with some degree of illumination on in the room, with movies generally viewed in darkness. Video game playing will also be split between darkness (mainly FPSs) and illumination (Kinect, party games, etc.) I would say that I'm probably the only one in the house that will notice any PQ issue, and the majority of my viewing when I care about PQ will be in darking settings.

I've also got my eye on the Panny TC-P65VT30. Having a difficult time choosing between these three.

Obviously, I've decided that 3D is a must-have, but, honestly, I couldn't tell you why. But the kids tell me they want it, and I look forward to trying out gaming in 3D, so why not?

I justed picked up this TV with the Sharp 3D blu ray player and four pairs of glasses. We watched Under the Sea in 3D and were blown away. The same disc on any TV be it passive or active can not touch the qulity of the Sharp. I even have not had a chance to alter the factory settings. It is that good. Go get it before there is a shortage.

Godfather, The 5 inch increase in size, much brighter 3D image, outstanding contrast ratio far outweigh the slightly better motion artificats handling and colour accuracy of the VT30. My only beef with Sharp is that they are not providing the free glasses to the retail stores to show off the outstanding 3D performance of this TV.

I took a chance and am very pleased with the unit so far.

Have you actually compared these side by side? Calibrated, the VT30 has an excellent picture. Given that it came in second (only after the Elite) I would expect the PQ to be better. It is also less expensive.

Well, as I mentioned before, it is a trade-off. No, I have not seen them calibarated side-by-side. The Sharp was a clear winner for me. To each his own!

I'm not sure if I'm being too picky here, but I've noticed after having my set for a few days now that when watching 3D material, there seems to be a lack of depth. I'm not sure if my expectations were set too high, but I was expecting the same sort of 3D experience you get at the theatre. That is, objects appearing so close to your face that you reach out to touch them. I haven't experienced that with this set and am wondering if it's normal or if I may need to calibrate/adjust a setting? Or, is it the source material that is to blame?
