(Illinois) Anyone familiar with the ability of Condo Boards to control the placement of Dish for HDTV reception? I reside in a development that's about 20 yrs old- about 30 Bldgs. Two story bldgs.

The FCC has rules regarding what the Condo associations can or can't do regarding sat. dish installations. For example, most people don't know that a condo association can't stop you from mounting a sat. dish on your balcony. As long as the area is used by you and not a common area, a landlord or an association can't stop you from installing the dish.

Basically, as long as all your dishes are on your exclusive controlled area (i.e. your balcony), you can put them there. Your dishes cannot go outside of your control zone, however( or rather, the HOA can tell you not to put them there). Read the FCC link for the answers.
