Bought a 55-inch E550VA last week, sound would suddenly cut off at random times. Changed the channel, sound came back, otherwise it did not. This happened 2-3 times a day. Also, the smooth motion feature didn't appear to work at all, nor did the smooth motion demo option, which is supposed to show a split screen so you can see the difference in settings. Tried a different HDMI cable, same results. Store was very close so I took it back and exchanged it for another E550VA.
2nd TV - same problems, plus one particular time you could hear static and the sound was totally broken up. I took that one back, this time to a different store in case these morons had received a bad batch.
3rd TV - Holy bleepedy bloop, same problems. Contacted Vizio about this, have not heard back. Anyone have this model and/or headaches? I've read about sound cutting out on other Vizios, but the apparent solutions don't apply to this TV because I don't have the same options in my menu settings.
