NANO LG LV9500 Official Owner's thread - Page 3

OK, so I went to my local store today and picked up a pair of AG-S250 active glasses, which are designed for the 2011 plasma range, and according to Crutchfield and Amazon sites, the original LW9500.

Charged them up, got the green light. But unfortunately they don't seem to sync to the screen. I tried holding the button for 8 secs until the led flashes green and powers off, then power on which should re-sync, but i get no shuttering from the glasses.

Am i doing something wrong? Any ideas?
In any case, at least it will prove one way or another whether the 3D can be enabled.

Any idea what medium the TV is supposed to use to sync with the glasses? If it's infrared, you might be able to use an electronic view finder (from a digital camera or something) to look for an IR transmitter on the TV.

That blows, i'm thinking there's no emitter. It's sort of like the Sony HX909. You have this really nice tv and 3D, but no emitter, purchase separately. But in this case I don't think LG makes them.

Judgng by this table http://lgknowledgebase.com/kb/index....y&EntryID=6488 I'm guessing it's RF like the other 2011 active screens.

I googled the ag-s250 part and found references from Amazon and Crutchfield that the glasses were supported by the LW9500 (original active spec), so i'm pretty sure they're correct. A good look at the screen only shows the gap for the remote ir sensor.

So unless there's another option in the EZ Adjust or InStart menus that i'm yet to enable, i'm thinking Dianabol5mg is right - no rf emitter

Interesting to note too, it looks like LG have changed/removed the 3D menu in the newer firmware just released. When I first tested this, I had the 3D as a menu option in Quick Menu (a small pop up menu). Now, to enable 3D I have to go to Setup and enable it via the display menu

OK, scratch that. Had a special moment there, the menu only comes up if using the magic motion remote. I use a pronto for normal use, so didn't see it.

Arkasi, go to the LG2011 lineup thread and hit the gizmodo link Thorin78 has up. Its the same tv, but LG is saying its passive and not active. Its a different model number, but it is the same television.

The 55LV9500 isn't listed. When you enter the model # in the search Window, nothing comes up. My friend and I both have passive glasses and will checkout once the sets arrive. I'm going to hold off on the FW upgrade, in case LG has decided to kill the 3D option. This would mean everyone will get the cheaper 55LV9500, activate the 3D and bypass the more expensive 55LW9800. Of course, it may enable, but actually not have any 3D at all available. If you've got a set of passive glasses we'll know sooner.

Yeah, the LW980S/T LW9800 is the updated panel incorporating the FPR panel to provide the passive Cinema3D. I've spent some time with the LW6500 passive panel, and it's very easy to see the difference (back lines separating the 2 images) that don't exist on my screen.

I'm sure nony will have the FCC data for the 2 panels?

Is it worth noting that the manual lists the 55LW9800 and the 55LV9500 as the exact same weight? It seems that if the 9800 has an extra filter the weights would be different. Of course the manual could just be imprecise.

I didn't receive one, I ordered mine online, when they said about 4800 were sold. I believe they sold out at 5500.

LG Korea just announced that it will start shipping two new HDTVs with the 47-inch 47LW9800 and 55-inch 55LW9800.

I don't recall what the count was when I ordered, but it was definitely hours before they sold out.

Interesting. A guy over at slickdeals (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthr...4#post41451544) said he also got the email and he ordered at around 2700 units shipped. Another guy there said he got an email that said his order has shipped, but the estimated delivery date is 8/22.

Some confusion at HSN..

Man that sucks, I really hope we all get our tv's. I mean jeeze, why would they try to sell that many units if they don't have them? Thats a crappy thing to do, if you know you only have a certain amount of units to sell. Mine was ordered as soon as I had seen it Saturday morning. I was scouring the shopping channels' websites hoping for something, cause I had just sold my 50" plasma. So every day I was on the prowl looking for an awesome tv with easy pays. The LHX has a 3 payment deal over at QVC(it was at 6 for 24hrs last week), but i couldn't pull trigger. Something was telling me to wait. This deal came up saturday morning and I promised myself I wasn't going to lose out, like I did on the KRP500 that was on shopnbc 2 years ago. I simply didn't buy it because of my kids. Knowing what would've happened to it, ate me up. And I didn't want to feel the pain of it getting whacked and written on, so I passed. I told my wife i'm not passing on a good opportunity this time. Now, i'm hoping my dilligency paid off and I don't get any bad news. Good luck to everyone.

Well I hope everyone that ordered the TV ends up getting one.
I wonder if these are even built yet, or is that the reason for the 08/22 date ?
Still no email, and I just checked HSN and mine doesn't show shipped. I did notice I have a pending charge from them from my CC company, so that's good news.

The Service Manual shows only 2D for Max Luminance for the 55LV9500
Next page: 3D Crosstalk - 1.8% - (V6) 55LW9500-NAUA, 55LV9500-UA and 55LW9600-UA.
Nothing mentioned about THX being hidden, and having to be activated from the Service Remote. Nothing mentioned in the User Manual either. I guess it's a wait and see deal!

Put in a dealer request to LG about some things missing in the Service Manual, about the Local Dimming and THX.

HSN just called and said the email (or automated phone call, whichever one may have received) that said the TV was out of stock was an error and that the order would be processed within 48 hours.

HSN is no longer listing this TV as sold out on their site. They now list it for $1599 (was $1499 on Saturday/Sunday). Might be a mistake considering all the confusion going on around stock of this item.

I just ordered the lv9500 and my wife is going to kill me.
I have a 40in samsung 85 model with local diming on sale it was grand and when I saw the lv 9500 with nano led and that means local dimming.well i going to die what the heck.

With the 'new' price up it doesn't really seem that much of a bargain does it? Still have to wait a month-ish. My TVs dying the White Dot syndrom so the less I use it the better (one dot and trying to sell it).

Estimated arrival dates aren't until around August 22nd. It is local dimming.
