Playstation Store Update Thread--August 2011 - Page 2

Last update for this month's thread--8/30 PSN Store update is listed in first post.

Tons of new material in this update. Even the PSP gets some love this week. I'm looking forward to that AC: Revelation multiplayer Beta in a couple a days myself.

The discounts for the CoD games look good, but why not discount your flagship game, BlackOps, as well to get people pumped about MW3? Why discount the older stuff that most players have moved on from? Doesn't make much sense to me, but I guess Activision knows what they are doing . . .

As an update, it seems that most of my points were confirmed, with the possible exception of spectator mode (I think it's in there). I can't check it out because I've been out of power all week, and I'm not sure I want to.

In other words, it's a pretty crappy release, not too far off from what we've gotten with Garou or whatever other SNK games on XBL. But it's still 3rd Strike, so people are dealing with it.

They're only going to discount it to spur sales... so taht tells me the BO stuff is still selling well... and I'd have to believe them... look how many user reviews the BO map packs have on the psn store... then compare that to your run of the mill ps store offering... it's 10-20 more for BO

If anyone is still playing RockBand, that Antoine Dodson track is pretty funny if you recall his youtube video. I'd buy it, but I can't justify paying $2 a song fora game that nobody wants to play anymore.

I downloaded and played the free Blue Toad Murder Files episode last night. It's now patched with Move support making it truly a point and click adventure game. Though it was fun and entertaining, it was very short and the story didn't pull me in as much as others have (BTTF), but I'm still considering getting the episode 2-6 bundle for $14 (currently on sale).

By the way, it's not in Sony's store update post, but Back to the Future episode 1 is free as well right now. It installs as a separate trophy list (unlike Blue Toad), so it's a quick and easy 100% for those who care about that sort of thing.

I'm sure most of you who follow this thread already know this--but the AC Revelations Beta is up on the PS Store (downloading as I type this).

You MUST be a PS+ subscriber (or Ubisoft U-Play member) to get access to this Beta.

EDIT: I don't believe the "actual" Beta starts until 9/3, but you can download the file from the store as of right now.
