Agreed. You're running the EXACT same skill tree as I am in my co-op game with the wife and kid. Hardly ever lose shields or go down.
I'm absolutely wrecking everything in sight with that sertup and I haven't even got the double guns yet! Imagine double guns with missles, slag, shields, and two turrets!
You know you can only get three of those 4 at the current level cap right? You can go all the way to slag but you won't get two turrets and vice versa.

Hence the word, "Imagine." I'd lay money that the DLCs will allow for 5 extra level caps each, just like BL1.
"Boss battles" in this game are way better than in 1 and so far the story is way better too. Though, I am not quite at the end of playthrough one with Axom yet. I thought I was near the end (and ran into another area I don't know how my Maya will survive [though Axom did fine once I got my orientation]) but after I got done with the current awesomeness I ended up with a bunch more side quest I will need to do before continuing with the main mission. So I THINK I am near the end but I still have a several more hours to play.
I wonder if I am overleveled though. Although the last fight was hectic it wasn't particularly hard for Axom and pretty much every quest I get is marked as "trivial". I never did any special "grinding" though I did tend to "complete" a quest and then have to run through the same area for another quest . Oh and I did use the Bloodshoot hideout to test a new sniper rifle and to do the couch thing my Maya did but Axom missed. I was like god one shotting everyone and could ignore people shooting at me if I wanted as they never dented my shields. So if there are collectables you missed go back to those areas late in the game and you will get the feeling of overpower some of you are seeking.
This has been bugging me for several pages - there is no "Axom" in the game.
BL1 and 2 you are almost always overleveled if you do all the quests. At least though the enemies are fairly easy to kill, many of them still dish out good damage and with a group can be a little challenge (because more spawn).
OK. So the 13,000 damage Level 50 sniper rifle probably works as well on the TRUE badass enemies as my 834 does now on some Level 25 ones: critical hit may be 5x as strong, but they still walk away.
ONLY if I get decent stuff will I bother with TVHM. I was working with some friends in Lynchwood and suddenly they disappeared. No idea what happened, maybe they said they were leaving, maybe not. In either case, I was mauled constantly by the riff-raff, dying over and over when whatever I threw at the failed and then they were so far away I couldn't manage a Second Wind. Not AWFUL shields in my collection, 1,600 at least on the ones I wore, but whoosh they'd disappear. So if I get massively high ones that aren't two-hit fodder I'll play. Otherwise, I don't need the hassle.
Too bad I missed today's code. Michael is only handing out equipment that matches Sanctuary's Level 22, and I'm 80% of the way to Level 29. Using the Minecraft shotgun I was given, the Lynchwood crowd is not a problem. If only I hadn't gone through like 100,000 credits worth of revival before I figured that out. Not sure advancing the story will fix Sanctuary, so I'll be farming Lynchwood for a while...
Got 2 Golden Keys. Opened the chest twice (like an idiot) and got some shields. 4 Shields 2 each try. I wanted weapons Oh well will not use the one they just gave out until I get up a few levels only at 17 right now.
7 keys now. Now going to use a single one until I hit L50, since I'm obliterating everything in sight with little effort.
EDIT: Also, just completed the game. Need to go back and finish the last (robot) Circle of Slaughter and defeat the Invincible Thing. Nothing special dropped for me in the end. NO orange. So, I got exactly ONE orange item in my entire first playthrough (which I appanrently dumped immediately)...and still crushed the game without dying more than a handful of times. Probably gonna take a break before doing TVH mode. I have no idea how some people are already on their 3rd playthrough or even more. Edited by spyder696969 - 10/6/12 at 4:24pm
I used a key at level 28, got two pretty darn good shields. They were both purple, the nice won was almost double the strength of the one I was using and had a 30% bullet absorb.
Yet another new code: CJKT3-WRK5R-3XR36-KRJJJ-5XJZW

I keep missin' these friggin' things by about an hour!!!
I'm not sure I should stay on the course I've been sailing. It's fairly easy to just level up, with some places still giving plenty of XP even though the enemy level is 6 below mine now that I'm at 29-1/2. However, not advancing the story is leaving Sanctuary handing out equipment at least 7 levels lower than me. Some other places are OK, but they don't have the number of machines that Sanctuary has. I could seriously use 4,000+ shields but they are nowhere to be found. Haven't been to Opportunity yet though.
Did find an E-tech rocket launcher, which, when I use it on enemies, produces a bluish bubble where they used to be. The double-shot perk kicks in sometimes but they don't follow each other. The fact that it does far less damage than the blue one I have makes it less desirable than it could be, but it's amusing...
