Hope you can help, I am pulling my hair out here. Over the past weeks I've redone my room with 7.1 Mission surround speakers and a new Onkyo TX-SR608 amp. Today the last piece of the upgrade arrived which was an nVidia GT 430 graphics card to go in my HTPC so I can bitstream HD audio.
Now, the GT 430 and the Onkyo TX-SR608 both definitely support Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master audio streams. I use PowerDVD 11 Ultra as my Blu-Ray software which also supports HD audio bitstreaming - but I cannot for the life of me get this to work.
When I installed the drivers for the new graphics card it installed an HD audio driver and sure enough after a restart Windows was automatically recognising my Onkyo as the HDMI audio device - this was promising!

I was immediately able to play music and video over the HDMI link and it sounded great, but no matter which blu-rays I played, I never got the HD audio stream, the option to enable HD audio was unavailable in PowerDVD.
The latest version of PowerDVD is supposed to be fairly solid, but to rule out a problem with PDVD I downloaded some TrueHD and DTA-MA sample m2ts files to play through MPC-HC. Sure enough, MPC would play the 5.1 DD stream (all the right lights on the amp) but as soon as I switched to the TrueHD stream I got no sound at all. Actually when forcing it to output the TrueHD stream the Onkyo started acting very strangely, the display kept flickering between PCM and DD like it couldn't lock on to the stream.
So, I did a bit of Googling and came across a useful guide on setting up HTPC for HD audio. First thing I notice is his screenshot:

In the Windows audio console his audio device is listing TrueHD and DTS Master as supported formats. Now take a look at my audio console:

No HD formats supported. How is this happening? Where does Windows get this information from? Please help!!
