Her body will never be found so her bones can never be properly buried, the truth of her story told or justice done.
That episode was extremely disconcerting. Just a really weird vibe and odd camerawork all the way through. More than the pilot I thought. They explained some things this week, but I was just as baffled as usual when it ended.
So we know the maid is dead, so is she now some kind of succubus that feeds on men's spirits?
I'm not convinced the Burned Man is real now either. He's either a figment of Dylan's mind, Dylan's possessed by the real Burned Man's spirit or it's just something for the viewers to represent the fact he's going crazy.
At least they killed the mistress before that had chance to get soapy. This episode was really high on the creepy camp factor (Muhahahahahaha, I'm the mad doctor! ...) so I couldn't have handled anymore melodrama. Unless she isn't dead and that was all a mind trick played by the house and the girl was never there.
The main problem I have with this show now is that the present day family are nowhere near as interesting as the stories about the murder history of the house. Maybe the entire purpose of the house is to drive the husband nuts so he kills his family just as the original owner seems to have done. Maybe the house is possessed by the spirit of the mad doctor.
