Setting Up first HTPC

Hello
Currently I have my PC and am awaiting the Patriot Box. But id like to use my pc to watch some bluray isos in the mean time.
Current Specs:
i7 920
Radeon 6950x2
24GB
60GB SSD as primary
4TB as Secondary +

Im thinking all I need to do is connect the Radeon 6950 to the receive via hdmi correct?
What is the recommended software to use? thanks!
