Quote AV-Land: "
The Onkyo PR-SC5509 replaces the PR-SC5508 and is Onkyo's high end home cinema THX Ultra2 Plus certified pre-amplifier, with the ability to process up to 11.2 channels."
This wouldn't mean 11.2 channels simultaneausly, or does it? I presume, like the 5508, the 5509 lets you choose any 2 out of 3 (Wide/Height/Surround Back). Correct?
Want a 11.2 pre-pro, with XLR pre-outs, without amps. Rather not want to get the Denon 4311.
BTW, I read the Onkyo 1009 review on AreaDVD in German. The reviewer used a 9.2 Surround system (no wides) with Teufel speakers. He liked the THX + DTS Neo:X setting best. More subtle than DSX.
Here's the link for the Onkyo review, for those who are confident enough to try some German (but you can always Google translate)
